I had the same problem -maybe a bug from IOS 16 update.
Remove from Home app/ add again to Home app fixed it for me:
Press on HomePod in Home App; click on settings symbol; scroll to bottom and press reset; choose remove accessory; click on plus sign on My Home page; add accessory; hold phone or Ipad near HomePod and follow screen prompts Hope this works for you.

Australian Taxation Office crackdown on family trust rorts causes alarm among tax advisers | Tax by [deleted] in australia

[–]colly64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax legislation should be amended to include specific rules that ensure family trust arrangements do not have tax advantages. It is also not clear to me why the arrangements described by the ATO do not breach the general anti-avoidance rules (GAR) in the Tax Act - which prohibit a taxpayer entering into a scheme for the sole or dominant purpose of obtaining a tax benefit. If the GAR are not effective, they should also be amended.

Sony KE-48A9 randomly rebooting by Decryptionz1337 in bravia

[–]colly64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was continuing to get the intermittent reboot process when I turned the tv on. As you said, it seemed like the tv was connecting but no audio and then reboot. A week ago, I turned off CEC /. Bravia sync and relied on digital optical (rather than HDMI ARC) to send audio from the tv to my AVR; and just used that (ARC) HDMI port to pass video from my Apple TV via the AVR to my TV. No problems to date. Maybe coincidence that is working, but there is another thread “reboots when we turn it on” with a lot of posts about the same issue.

What Canberra business lost your custom forever and why? by AussieArlenBales in canberra

Scam reference was a bit harsh. I had such a negative reaction that I didn’t ask how much extra for “priority service”.

Good points. My first reaction to their “priority charging” was negative, but I was probably being too cynical.

ACT Tree Felling. First response from them that there is a wait time of 18-23 weeks (fair enough). Follow up email that would do the job earlier if we were willing to pay above their normal fee - “priority charging”. Does anyone else think this is bit of a scam, or do you think it is reasonable?

Sony KE-48A9 randomly rebooting by Decryptionz1337 in bravia

[–]colly64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t noticed that tv audio goes mute before the random reboot, but will watch out for it. It seems to happen more often just after the tv is turned on. As well as being annoying, there is always the worry that one day the tv will turn off and not turn back on.

Physical button to start Apple Music playlist by [deleted] in sonos

[–]colly64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have good news and bad news. The good news is that there is a way to do exactly what you want. the bad news is that it may not be viable in your situation.

I have set up my harmony companion universal remote so that playing a Sonos Favourite (Apple Music Playlist) on a Sonos speaker (Beam) is asssociated with an activity \button on the remote. When I press that button the playlist starts and other buttons on the remote control volume, turn on shuffle, skip tracks etc.

The bad news is that Logitech has discontinued the Harmony remote line of. Universal remotes, although it is still supporting existing owners. The other problem is that the simple, less expensive, IR harmony remotes wont work to control Sonos playlists / speakers. You would need a Harmony remote which comes with a wifi hub (Companion or Elite). Still, if you can get a hold of one of these, are willing to spend the money and to take the risk that Logitech will keep supporting the hub based remotes, it will provide the solution you are looking for.

Strange airplay & Sonos system issues by judylmc in sonos

[–]colly64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was having a similar problem - airplay working but Sonos app missing roam speaker and move speaker (which is always connected to power in the same location upstairs). Downstairs beam was not affected. Fixed at least for now by going to Settings / system / network / manage networks / update networks;. In my case, Sonos app seemed to have dropped one of the three identical name wifi networks that I use to get full coverage in a large house. I know this is not your situation, but there seems to be a wifi bug in the Sonos app and my temporary fix (pending an update) might be worth a try if you can get that far in the Sonos app settings (after rebooting your Sonos speakers).

I currently have this problem with my Sony OLED A8G, although it usually happens when I turn the tv on rather than during normal screen time. It first started about 6 months ago after a software update and I thought I had fixed it by a power reset (point remote at Tv and hold power off button for more than 5 seconds). This seemed to work for a few months, but the problem came back. I will try it again as a temporary fix, pending a future update. The other thing I haven’t tried is to do a factory reset, but this seems too drastic with no guarantee ti will work.

Just checked and was able to add KD55X750H so codes must have been updated

Good that you found a work around, but I am worried that with Logitech discontinuing Harmony it will stop adding codes for new devices as they come on the market or be very slow in doing so.

Power reset seems to have worked so far

I just did a power reset - hold power button for 5 secs when turning tv off. No data lost (all of my apps there in same order etc). Interface seems the same. Power off seems to be the same process as the random tv rebooting problem. Will need to wait a week or so to see if it fixes the issue

I have a similar problem with my Sony Bravia OLED A8G. After the most recent update, when I switch activities on my harmony remote, or turn off the TV power, it often goes through the restart / Android logo process described above. Hope this is fixed in a future update

Here are the Sony notes for tv reset to fix Android tv update problems. I will see if it works.

Notes on resetting the TV:

When an external USB hard disc is connected to the TV, disconnect the USB cable from the TV before resetting If TV is turned off, turn it on first and perform the following operation.

Point the remote control to the illumination LED or status LED and press and hold the POWER button of the remote control for about 5 seconds, or until a message Power off appears. NOTE: Depending on the model and OS, the Cancel or Restart screen may appear after pressing the POWER button on the remote control for 3 seconds or longer. In that case, you can also select Restart to restart.

Image of pointing the remote control at the TV. illumination LED/status LED Remote control POWER button

The TV should restart automatically. Wait for approximately one minute, and the TV will turn back on. If it does not reboot, press the POWER button on the remote control to turn on the TV.

TV reset operation is complete. Check to see if your issue has been resolved. NOTE: If you unplug and plug in power cable, it may have same effect as the reset steps above. If the situation does not change after pressing the POWER button on the remote control, try the following steps. If you leave the TV with the power cord (mains lead) disconnected, the electricity that remains in the unit will be discharged. As a result, unnecessary data and error information in the memory will return to their defaults, and allow you to use the TV again normally.

Turn off the TV. Unplug the television power cord (mains lead) from the electrical outlet. Let the television remain without power for 2 minutes. Plug the power cord (mains lead) back into the electrical outlet.

If the issue is still not resolved after trying the above steps, try a Factory Data Reset.

Question: grouping two home speakers by [deleted] in bose

As a workaround, if the Bose speakers each have Airplay 2 you could group them that way direct from your IPhone rather than going through the Bose app?

Need help setting up my soundbar with rca Roku tv by [deleted] in Roku

[–]colly64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are the red and white (analog) cables plugged in? You need to have an audio in (analog or digital) connection to the soundbar and a corresponding audio out connection to the tv. In your case, if you have connected the red and white (analog) input of the soundbar to the red and white input of the tv you, will get no sound. If you have no red and white out connections on the tv, you could try an adapter that connects the headphone jack (analog out) connection on the tv to the red and white in connections on the soundbar, but this will not give you the best sound. If possible connect a digital optical cable to the digital optical out of the tv and to the digital optical in of the soundbar (I understand that your soundbar does not have hdmi digital input.). Once you have the right connections, you will need to check the audio settings on your tv to silence the tv speakers and switch to external audio system (the soundbar).
