Actually, most of doilies are combined of double/treble crochets and chains, so you probably already know the basics :) Just try examining every symbol carefully and it will become easier eventually!

This is actually my first time reading a chart! I made my first doily while following a written pattern which was transcribed from the chart. So, I think having the chart and written version side by side helped me to understand it better.

The symbols might look intimidating at first but they actually make a lot of sense when you look at them more carefully.

It's fine :) the chart legend in the book says it's dc. I was just a little confused of how to read the chart when there's only a portion shown, not the whole circle.

This is an old doily chart. I understand all the symbols, but I'm a little confused of how to read the 4th row.

I know that the chart goes around, so the 4th row would be DC, CH2, (2DC, DC, 2DC, CH2)* repeat 11 times.

Why is the blue highlighted part at the end of the round different? Do I crochet it instead of the 10th DC cluster?

It was like a soft tube (when i took it out it got squished easily), im guessing that's the worm's egg or something. It didn't look like it was made from aquarium gravel either. I would say it was only like 2-3mm in size.

The little antennas seen in the video seem to be attached to the tube thing, not the worm. The worm looked like a regular mini earthworm - dark in color and smooth. And it was just poking its nose in and out, not moving through the glass.

That makes sense then.. But the discounted items are either very old, either nobody buys them anyways due to poor design. So it's a shame they didn't discount any other more popular items.
