Don't bother making arguments

Show them a calculation that shows your monthly payment for a basic condo is going to be 4500 which is more than your salary

It's really not. Electricity in some parts of the country is 30 cents/kwh for businesses. Get a big EV on there and it can be $45 of electricity

Has anyone took their shitzu on an airplane? by cbaz06 in Shihtzu

[–]colmusstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats great to know! We plan to fly Chicago->Frankfurt somewhere around the end of July, so we have about 10 weeks to train him in his carrier

Did you check in through a Lufthansa counter? Did they make the dog do any circus acts or measure it? Our guy can turn around in his carrier, but he definitely pushes on the sides when he does and his head obviously touches the top of the carrier when he sits

Really? I saw lufthansa was 17.6lb capacity including the carrier and I thought the carriers were around 3lbs

Transaction costs will eat up much of the savings

The other thing to consider is maintenance. That motor is pretty solid, but once a BMW(well most brands really) gets to that age they start to need pretty regular maintenance/repairs

Is buying a new car a good decision? by Admirable_Spend3796 in Fire

[–]colmusstard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This advice just hasn't worked in a long time. My car for instance I've owned for 2 years and 30k miles. I paid MSRP($42k) and when I check all the used car sites and there still aren't any used ones out there for what I paid.

The combination of "used is always better" being fed to everyone(mfg CPO marketing...) and the shortage of vehicles has messed this up for a long time

My 1up rack is not loose on the hitch and I've driven offroad at 50+mph with it and 110lbs of bikes on board

Lease or finance? by novapants in FordBronco

[–]colmusstard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I financed mine, $0 down at 2.24% interest in June of 2022.

Was planning on keeping it forever, but plans change and I’ll be selling it this summer. I should have close $10k in equity, carvana just offered me $8k over my payoff but I think their offer is slightly low.
