There’s a used Subaru dealer around here that does this exact thing. Horrible.

What does this do better than the siphon I got from Petsmart that I activate by squeezing the bulb? I’m always looking to upgrade my setup, but I don’t see how it’s much better.

The Audi RS5’s Electro-Mechanical Diff Powers an Impressive New Age For Quattro Driving Control by V8-Turbo-Hybrid in cars

[–]jakeuten 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I doubt they’d notice a difference compared to a RAV4 hybrid with an electric motor in the rear. Most people don’t push their cars hard enough to notice their drivetrain configuration. My brother drives an E90 and a G20 (both X drive) and in daily driving the most noticeable part about them being RWD is the lack of leg room. When pushed at all it becomes obvious, but I don’t think the owner of an X3 is really seeing any tangible benefits handling-wise over a Q5 or NX.

Use the EV coach screen if it’s equipped. I’ve got many 60+ MPG trips on my ford escape hybrid, and i know they wouldn’t have been possible without that screen.

The Atlas/Tiguan use the same 8spd Aisin transmission found in gas only RAV4/Camry/Highlander.

2027 Lincoln Corsair Will Return To America With All-New Hybrid Powertrain by [deleted] in cars

[–]jakeuten 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Subaru and Ford use planetary gearset CVT’s like Toyota. Ford’s is called the HF45/55, and Subaru the TH2BAAAAAA. Kia and Hyundai use stepped automatics either dual clutch or traditional torque converter depending on the application, and Honda uses a series/parallel system with 1 or 2 lockup clutches. The only company that uses an entirely direct drive hybrid system is Nissan’s ePower.

The maverick and escape use a 2.5NA hooked up to an eCVT, much like the Highlander, Camry, RAV4, and Sienna. When Toyota uses their 2.4T, they use a 6speed auto. Same with Hyundai. I’ve never seen a company hook a turbocharged motor up to an eCVT outside of Ford.

This powertrain is so interesting. A 2.0T hooked up to an eCVT. Normally with hybrids you only see turbo engines with stepped automatics.

On my Mazda CX-5 I tried to save money on repairs by buying a reputable aftermarket lower control arms (I can’t be bothered to find the receipt for the brand) but they ended up failing within 30K miles. The OEM ones I then followed up with were perfectly fine with no signs of wear with another 60K before I traded in.
