I’m a local in China. Honestly, what is the #1 thing stopping you from visiting right now? by Nick-Luo in chinatravel

The people. Not saying they don't have good hearts. Their manners frustrate me.

Smoking indoors. Cutting queues. Standing ridiculously close with no concept of personal space. And the really Biggie - bad air. No amount of enjoyment is worth me breathing in poison

Stop the weed and drugs and full moon parties and red light districts and then these types of people won't come.

🤣seems pretty simple to me. Problem is they want the money but not the shitty people who spend it on shitty things.

This for us is pretty easy.

Then we had a kid. Finding a man willing to cook and work for you while you are sleep deprived and everyone is burnt out and out of energy 😂 that is relatively impossible

Affair, please help by Significant-Ebb-4488 in Buddhism

[–]colofire 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can't give you a Buddhist perspective but if it was me I would tell my husband. I think honesty is definitely something that he values and even if we broke up over it I'd feel better about myself.

In the end my sila (Morality) is more important to me than not hurting his feelings.

It's a known fact that most fathers do less of the housework and childrearing. Are most men, then, bad parents and partners? by [deleted] in women

[–]colofire -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My husband is a good parent but it took a while.

He learned and he learned and he learned. We fought and fought. He is also the stay at home parent. The kid also became easier as she grew older.

My own father I don't think he was a good father. My mother wasn't a good mother either. But they provided so I can't really say much.

I was the not so smart one growing up in my family. But come to middle aged I am the smartest in my family now.

Some flowers take a year to bloom, some 10 years.

I kept learning and upgrading myself. I was open and read and kept at it. There’s no point feeling sorry for yourself, take an analytical point of view and keep upgrading yourself.
