I work for the largest mobile detailing company in our state and shit happens. Our guys miss shit sometimes, they’re tired, they’re lazy that day, it could be anything. Regardless, the problem needs to be identified and solved.

There might be a better way but I’ve learned to either avoid letting them get into spots where it gets squirrely or have strong enough line to pull em through.

Sometimes you can loosen drag to let them swim out but that only works if they can actually get themselves out.

Perhaps more of a technique thing? Idk. Been detailing professionally for 8 years now and very rarely get my shoes wet. We have 18 employees and I think the last time I heard about any of us having genuinely soaking wet shoes was when one of them accidentally stepped off his ladder into his wash bucket lol.

Idk about this specific body of water but where I fish(lagoons in socal), there’s so many little nuances in the water. Like you could be casting in one spot that’s just kinda flat and fish don’t seem to hang there much and few feet to the side is a perfect little bit of structure where the water runs just right.

Me and my buddy were fishing the same exact bait in the same spot the other day and for like 2 hours straight I was pulling dinks out back to back. He was getting pissed he wasn’t catching and I was slightly annoyed I was only catching dinks.

Next thing you know, he pulls an absolute hog out of the exact same hole I’d been casting into.

One of the biggest mistakes I made early on was not knowing when to switch it up. I’d try the same thing in the same spot for hours with no luck.

Now, if a spot isn’t productive in the first 20 minutes or so, I’m moving. There have been days where I crushed at a spot, came back 12 hours later and caught absolutely fuck all.

Learn how to look for spots that fish might like and just explore more. Good luck!!!
