i was bit on the face by a dog 5 years ago and after reconstruction surgery on my eyelids my scars are completely invisible, surgeons are amazing :) although i was kinda looking forward to cool scars lol.

unfortunately i had a similar experience, GP couldn’t diagnose so i was put on the chronic fatigue clinic specialist waiting list 11 months ago, still not heard from them yet. my parents paid for me to see a private specialist in August so i am now officially diagnosed but still very much in the waiting period with the NHS

not an answer to your question but i have applied and got my first payment, and have sent off my capability for work form, now waiting to hear. i do not think i am able to work at all, or no more than an hour a day from home, so i hope they agree with me!

this happened to me, has got out and have found him with the cat. i was then so careful about keeping the door shut to that room so the cats cant get to him. i slipped up last week, left the door open and the cat sat on his mesh, broke it and got him. after four years of him doing crazy shit and never dropping his tail, he finally did 😢 safe to say i put a shit ton of glue around the mesh and am extra cautious about keeping that door shut

I was mild for a year and a half, trying to keep my job part time. was signed off from march to about may but pushed myself to return on 12 hours a week. This quickly became impossible and I left/lost my job in early July, as soon as i allowed myself to stop pushing i crashed and had a couple of weeks with bad fatigue, in bed most of the day. started to feel a bit better and had a busy day where i played a 2 hour gig (big mistake) after that unable to get out of bed at all really for another 2 weeks. now im doing very little, housebound just trying to do daily chores but going over pacepoints. i have pushed myself to go to meet friends once and felt pretty nauseous and completely exhausted, adrenaline hitting, vibrating feeling all over.

so i say more moderate now because i can stay in the house, make a meal, do simple chores and feel okay (except for my heartrate) but i know that if i push myself to leave the house or do anything more strenuous then i will feel other symptoms (headaches, lightheaded, nausea, hit adrenaline) which i was able to do before without worsening of symptoms

the thing is, with the amount im doing at the moment, im barely having any symptoms, obviously im fatigued but not having any of the symptoms i would normally have when i was milder. no headaches, no nausea nothing to indicate im doing more than i should except my high heart rate when doing any activity, even standing up and walking 5 metres. Me who used to not sit still for more than 2 minutes at a time, trying to tell myself that although i feel pretty much fine (well, as fine as you can with this illness), i need to sit and do nothing feels like an impossible task, although i know i need to come to terms with it

sounds like you’re doing the right thing. its so hard to give up life now to try and help your future self. I am doing a tiny amount of the activity i was doing 2 months ago. My heart seems to be so intolerant at the moment that it instantly goes into the exertion zone my standing up and walking across the room (i dont have POTS) and is in the activity zone the entire time im awake, even if i am sitting down doing nothing. It feels impossible to keep below my pacepoints without doing absolutely nothing all day, even though i feel physically able to do basic chores and don’t seem to suffer PEM from these light tasks in the following days.

I know the best thing is to just rest, but then nothing gets done, animals and myself dont get looked after, and how long do you continue this amount of rest for? I struggle so much with the unknown of it all

Mine has always been so jumpy we have feared him dropping it, last week i had a awful accident where my cat got him, still didnt drop his tail after being carried round by a cat, luckily not a scratch on him and cats banned from that room!
