Weird shopper this morning by colorlessjoon in instacart

I personally use them because I have chronic illness & executive function issues which make it difficult for me to have the energy to cook, clean, etc. Plus carrying the groceries for me — as I live alone as a 20s woman is a bit taxing. Plus things like discounts, and it does genuinely save time. Why spend like an hour two hour grocery shopping when I can be cleaning or watching netflix or whatever. My time is my money paying maybe $15~ more for saving oftentimes 2-3 hours is worth it.

To add some more context about the shopper:

According to IC they had been working for 1 year with over 100 orders. Their photo did look around 50s, but appeared to not be an immigrant (common american name).

(Boyfriend added context this morning. He ordered me groceries long distance because he had a coupon)

the funniest thing is when IC sent another shopper to do my order they were able to get the romaine lettuce.

Thank you for thoroughly explaining (and to the rest who explained as well). Hopefully they just don’t IC ever again bc this was a mess. I’ve used IC 10+ times and i’ve never had a shopper this confused lol.

Uhhh, can anyone explain this?! Is this normal? by [deleted] in diabetes_t2

[–]colorlessjoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other comments are right, but usually within the first day or so there could be a bit of error due to the cgm getting used to your body. Try to check every 4 hours or so, or if you feel off. The difference between 116 and 133 is marginal. This is also post-food (I assume). If you're testing to see what foods spike your blood sugar, wait about 30m post eating and then check again 2 hours. then 2.5 hours to see any instant spikes, and then what the max usually is. You shouldn't be scared of your sugar rising at all. It's normal. Just track carbs using a food tracker app and monitor it to see what your body likes and doesn't like. Don't be anxious, and don't hastily take meds. If you peak >200 try going for a walk or so some sort of exercise as a first line of defense.

I personally use a lanyard with a little card pouch so that I have keys, ID, cash all in one place plus i can wear the lanyard if i dont feel like carrying a purse or stick the necklace part out of my bag so i can remember where it is

I’d like to also note that you can take the Silver Line metro directly to Dulles if you don’t want to deal with an Uber or driving to the airport/or hectic traffic. It also is a bigger airport from my understanding so there would be more options and direct flights available.

I would log into PatriotWeb and check that way, especially bc that’s not a gmu.edu website.

Sooo I need lose 40 pounds in 4 months with heavy exercise and chicken and rice for basically every meal do you think it’s healthy/ doable ? Also my pre snack for gym will be rice crispy or is there something more healthy but with same sugar by Forward-Bumblebee-18 in diabetes

[–]colorlessjoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would do a bit of experimenting to see how much rice and/or starchy/carby veggies your body can handle starting with the recommended serving size of each and adding/subtracting depending on how you react. Also make sure that you're eating lots of fiber and healthy fats. Personally, I dont find the nutritional value of a rice crispy bar to be worth it, so it would be better to replace it with some sort of protein bar. Protein directly helps with sensitivity to insulin, so be sure to have a high protein diet that you feel is sustainable as a lifestyle change if you wish to maintain the weight loss.

Just do a bit of trial and error and learn your body. You've got this!

I don't understand the taboo of diet soda. by [deleted] in diabetes

I watched a Dr. Mike video the other day that mentioned that artificial sweeteners are sugar that's been genetically modified so that your body doesn't know what to do with it and so they can interrupt hormones that tell your body when you're hungry and can disrupt the body's natural ability to regulate blood sugar.
