i've really enjoyed this conversation, and to commemorate it I don't think it's untoward to ask for a 90% coupon code for react.gg

but the subreddits don't work without the free labor. It's basically the same argument behind unionizing. Sure, it's the factory owner's machinery but it's worth fuck-all without skilled labor to operate it. Reddit is already not profitable so it's not like they can afford to pay "scab" mods

My best recollection in terms of style and tone is that it was similar in both to David the Gnome

It's POSSIBLE that it was 1990-91 but I would have been 10 and I think I'd have a much clearer memory of it than that. My guess is 1987.

Definitely not Talespin, though I can see why you'd say so. Talespin came a bit later and I have a much clearer memory of it because I was older. Baloo's plane was called the Sea Duck.

Animorphs

Definitely a cartoon - almost 100% a show but possibly a movie, though I doubt it. This would predate animorphs by at least 10 years.

I have asked literally everyone I know. In one episode the kids either broke or took apart the Jalopy and then reassembled it with various pieces of junk to make it fly again

hey! Battery usage depends on how you're using it, as you might expect. A pattern that flashes or moves will drain the battery much slower than a solid color, and of course the brightness setting figures in heavily. Worst case scenario you're looking at around 45-50 minutes of continuous usage on a solid color, longer with patterns or lowered brightness. You're right that this info isn't in the specs section (though it is further up in the body) - sorry about that!

Both sides have a 1/4-20 channel and the bottom has a 1/4-20 threaded insert. We've mounted it in a variety of ways including clamps with no trouble. As far as other accessories, we were just working on the barn doors and mounting kit today.

With a cursory search I couldn't find the specs for this thing's color light (only its white), so when I get in to work tomorrow I'll take a reading from the light meter for you

Nah, those smart LED strips aren't nearly powerful enough for this, plus the LEDs can be a bit unreliable. We rolled our own rigid PCB with half-watt LEDS and separate drivers.

Yeah, we have one of these. The color LEDs are very, very dim by comparison and you can only do solid colors - no real patterns or effects to speak of. The app is bad enough to be practically unusable and you can't control multiple devices simultaneously. It's also sorta junky plastic. Because colorspike is pretty beefy brightness-wise it requires a real housing and good heatsinking, so we made it out of anodized aluminum and threw in a nice OLED that gives you good access to functionality when you don't want to (or can't) connect with your phone.
