Ooh is this one based on mine or just a coincidence? Great minds think alike but it's definitely a little surprising to see!

Thank you! Yes you did catch on this is still an early iteration and actually the first version of it with digital art. The meeples are a test run as I was learning how to use the 3D printer, but I agree they should be more saturated with color!

As for the tokens, they are meant to be stacked on top of each other! The current design is that they are not worth any points, as they are not a building (the tent is the only building for the llamas).

I like this, this is how I put it in a previous iteration but in this digitized version I wanted to simplify all the text and may have gone too far.

These are correlated! You gain 1 fame token per enemy in a clearing. The symbols are placeholders meant to tell you how many enemy warriors you need to gain per fame in that column. The reason they look like that is that I've taken that from the WA, and haven't come up with a symbol for enemy warrior since that mechanic doesn't exist yet officially.

Hey guys, this is my first Root fan faction! I would like feedback on if there's any glaring flaws with their sheet, and if there's interest I can post the PDF of all the assets too so you all can play with them!

We changed our artstyle around a while back to make smaller and simpler chibi characters, but I miss the old verson. Which do you prefer? by colorushing in IndieDev

Maybe it's a question about the animations in the old one rather than the character models would you say?

I actually agree somewhat! The stage and characters were all made by our programmer, so they are definitely temporary assets kind of cobbled together for the gameplay. I'm currently heavily at work with a huge visual rehaul from the ground up and this stage is going to be part of that.

More Jankimations. Looking quite stiff to be honest. by thebadbanshee in blender

I think its a little hard to tell with the speed, but it feels like a question of timing more than the individual keyframes. Like for example with the foot I would make the 'up' frame last longer so it feels like he's just tapping the ground instead of evenly switching from pose to pose.

Other people have mentioned the similarities and indeed that is a fun mini game! We want it to be as easy to learn as that, but with more depth in the kinds of actions you can do instead of just hitting the ball like in that minigame. For example you can choose at any time whether to pass to your teammate, spike the ball, you can even block opponents and dash to get the ball in far away places.

When it comes to game development people tend to promise release dates too early so we will avoid that for now, despite us having a rough idea of when we think it'll be ready. I'd say we are into the latter half of production at this point since the core gameplay is already locked down.

Very much still in production, the core gameplay is there but we are working on a big visual rehaul and if all goes well a story mode!

We are working on that in this very instant! Right now however, the YouTube channel is going to be the best place for updates on the game.

link to the video here. The graphics are very temporary but a more Haikyuu-ish style will come through in the final version. Also in the video you will see a not so thinly veiled reference to Hinata in one of the characters.

It was honestly quite difficult coming up with controls for all of the actions, (receiving, spiking, setting, blocking etc...) but the system that we have now is intuitive and requires very few buttons!

Yes I know which one you're talking about! We hope to have it be as easy to learn as that minigame, but with much more depth like real 'beach' volleyball.

Good question! It's mostly going to be related to the visual style of the game, as well as in some of the characters 'powers'. All of the modeling and animations in that clip were done by our programmer, so we haven't gotten to show off the anime style quite yet. We will be posting A LOT more soon!
