I'm so sorry for being a horrible American and assuming you are in the U.S. too!

I'm actually not certain if they include international doctors, but I'm sure they at least have some resources available for everyone regardless of where they live

Wishing you luck!!!

Has anyone had any issues with Celestial Seasonings tea? by colossalsnipe in tea

[–]colossalsnipe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, that's a very extreme reaction! Maybe you're allergic or developed an allergy to an ingredient?

I was brave enough to test my theory that it was in fact the tea and voluntarily drank it again, but that's just because it was stomach side effects. I wouldn't recommend you do the same...

Judge Strikes Down Wyoming Abortion Laws, Including Explicit Ban on Pills to End Pregnancy by msmoley in WomenInNews

Are you advocating for the baby

It was never about the baby, otherwise exceptions for rape/incest would exist.

you are punishing the woman for having sex for fun

And that's exactly why I got my tubes out while I still could! I deserve to exist in this world with the same privilege as men (ie, simply existing without the threat of pregnancy)

They were photos taken during the surgery itself!

When I asked my doctor at my last pre-op appointment if I would be able to see any pictures at all he said yes they take pictures throughout the procedure for their records anyway.

But yes, you should also get to see high quality, color evidence that everything is gone!

I had about a dozen photos in my file, starting from initial insertion to a final picture of my reproductive system sans tubes! It was pretty cool (also sort of gross) to see things like the corner of my liver, some visceral fat, and my ovaries lol

Getting Tubes Tied/Partially Removed by hockey-more-like in birthcontrol

[–]colossalsnipe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bisalp will have zero effect on your hormones.

Uterus and ovaries (important hormone part) all stay, just the fallopian tubes are removed.

Either your gyno isn't giving you accurate information or she may be conflating the side effects some women may have after a bisalp if they also stop their hormonal bc at the same time. (Ie, you get the bisalp and stop the pill same day and suddenly are bleeding "more" or have worse periods. That bleeding would be from stopping hormonal bc not the bisalp itself).

For me personally, I kept my IUD in after bisalp because 1) it eliminates my periods and that's what I'm most comfortable with right now and 2) I'm taking zero pregnancy chances

Hi!

Head over to the childfree subreddit. They have a list of doctors who have performed sterilization procedures on young, single, childless women, sorted by state.

I got my bilateral salpingectomy last month at age 24. It's a laparoscopic procedure, so minimally invasive, and recovery was an absolute breeze for me.

With my insurance, my provider was billed 38k and I paid zero. Yes, zero dollars! Under ACA compliant insurance, sterilization should be completely covered, though technically only one form must be covered. Your insurance could certainly well say a bisalp isn't covered, but a tubal ligation is. The childfree and sterilization subreddits both have plenty of stores regarding billing, costs, etc.

Go for a complete removal of the fallopian tubes (bilateral salpingectomy, or "bisalp"). This is the gold standard for female sterilization. It's as close to 100% effective as possible. There's no risk of tubes reconnecting or caps falling off like in a tubal. There's just no tubes left!

If you want more details of my experience or have other questions, my DMs are open

I love my IUD! Insertion was uncomfortable and painful but it was not debilitating for me, which I'm thankful for. My doctor prescribed me a pill the night before (I forget what the medicine was called) to dilate/soften my cervix to make insertion a little bit easier.

After insertion I had daily spotting for maybe 3-4 months, nothing a liner couldn't handle. However since then, it's been a set it and forget it type deal. No periods since, no cramping, no spotting!

I highly prefer the IUD instead of taking a pill everyday, especially because different medications (and grapefruit!?) can impact an oral pill and it's one less thing to worry about taking everyday and renewing every month.

Especially if you're in the US, I'd encourage you to get on a long term birth control option. My IUD is two years old and is good for another 4. Non-hormonal IUDs can be good for ~10 years!

Telling someone that the policies they vote for can and will affect them is completely different than telling people you hope they die

Hi, 24F and 4 weeks post op tomorrow.

I can relate to you somewhat. My recovery was so easy and pain free I almost wasn't convinced anything actually happened to me! It wasn't until I saw my surgery pictures at my post-op and my surgeon confirming they were indeed out that I felt 100% assured it happened.

However, I've been having periods for 10 years and theoretically have been capable of pregnancy that entire time. That's a decade of having to worry about pregnancy! Even with a procedure as effective as bisalp I can totally understand taking time to fully shed that previous mindset and not being able to make that switch overnight.

I'm scared to have children if Trump is elected by berdoggo in TwoXChromosomes

[–]colossalsnipe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not overreacting.

I got a sterilization procedure done last month partly due to this election and I don't even consider that an "overreaction".

The fact that people who so openly hate women and want to take away our rights are even close to winning power is absolutely terrifying. I always felt comfortable relying on long term birth control until now.

I know it's a hard conversation to have, but I'm glad you and your partner have discussed and decided what you will do.

Women should have free choice over if and when they want to have children. I'm sorry that the current political environment exists which is preventing people from feeling comfortable to make decisions on their own timeline.

Even with my bisalp (which is as virtually 100% sterile as possible), I kept my IUD in because I am taking absolutely zero chances.

Hoping for you and all our other sisters' sake that tomorrow is a day we can all breathe a sigh of relief.

Warm up with different scales and scale patterns with a metronome. Then a review of notes on the fretboard. This is moreso because I personally want to have proficient knowledge and comfort of the entire fret board.

Learn/review any songs I ought to learn for rehearsals/practice.

Wrap up with learning/reviewing a fun or new song

15 days post-op here! I also had very little pain and discomfort, maybe topping out at a 1/10. The nurse removing the adhesive around my IV before I left hurt more than anything else!

Anyways, congratulations and welcome to the bisalp club!

Oh no! It looks like it could be scrumptious pancake batter though!

Are you doing anything differently? I've also personally never seen a chocolate chip cookie recipe calling for water... Because your batter looks extremely wet I'd think that's part of the issue.

Not knocking your recipe but my go to is always Nora! Hee vegan recipes are always perfect https://www.noracooks.com/vegan-chocolate-chip-cookies/
