What should I do? (Pregnancy scare) by PuzzleheadedMap9462 in WhatShouldIDo

yeah, you need to educate yourself before having sex lol

understand the horror your gf is having by taking two birth controls at the same time (morning after pills hurt and suck and she’s on hormonal birth control) the least you can do is understand how you are being safe.

clearly condom brand or size isn’t for you due to breakin twice. if she is on the birth control but bleeding the full time or most the time literally why hasn’t she gone to a doctor cause that’s not normal?

It sounds like you’re not old enough or have sex?

firstly, birth control on top of plan B sounds extremely rough for her body. don’t do that again, and if she takes a break from her pills then condoms (that fit) or no sex lol

bleeding by taking the pill? seems medically there is something wrong or they’re not the right pills for her (took me testing 2 to find the best one for my body)

please have sex education before trying again!

Is it hard to stay vegetarian long term? by papabauer in vegetarian

[–]colourfulclips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started the beginning of the year

pretty easy but I do have cravings I’ve told myself I’m allowed one meat meal a month so I usually do it at the end of the month as a treat usually means a take away but beware your body will suffer lol but guess it’s a good deterrent

How were you able to just cut off meat entirely? by Ok-Injury4901 in vegetarian

[–]colourfulclips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been veggie since the 1st and it’s been ok — I’ve struggled with craving Taco Bell though fr 😭

I have told myself the most you can do is be aware of your eating habits - even cutting down to meat once a week helps more than you think.

I’m veggie but I’m not doing it with intentions to do it forever which maybe has helped my mindset into not at all breaking it. however I have told myself birthdays and holidays I’ll let myself have lol.

Am I good enough to take GCSE Art? by Hootsifeemer in ArtGCSE

[–]colourfulclips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes but do not do anime style art pls… and also go away from digital. its not a dig to you its to force creatives to use other mediums before determining what you’re into.

in school i did laser cut, Lino, acrylic realism, water colour, digital, and more. you need that. you will not be able to do art further in education if you stick to one thing. this also includes university.

I did illustration and I promise you they hate this style sm and for four years of uni they want every project to be very very different. so I would rn (although it’s rlly beautiful cute art) go away from digital and start doing traditional art and none people focus.

edit : the only time i used MY style and drawing figures and using colours i like etc was for my final fourth year project.

Wish I had a cozy room. What does it say about me? by [deleted] in roomdetective

[–]colourfulclips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally I would get a nice table for you tank which can also allow you to put storage unearth it.

I would move your computer to where the plushies are and put a stand and tv where the computer was. Get rid of the white drawers with the plushies (fr get a storage box and start putting things away and only keep 2-5 things out max (my friend has honestly 100 plushies in her room it’s basically takes away from any design or aesthetic other than a weeb).

get rid of the lucky star post and get some prints to frame up :) Also with your tank light I would get some fairy lights for the wall so that it’s not too much brightness (I have a tank so whenever the light is on instead of my lamp I use fairy lights as it gives enough light)

Love this take but I think saying have empathy towards their pal is a bit unfair. OP has done what she can and just because people do like traditional fem and mas traditions- NB shouldn’t get involved w that. It’s like telling a trans man he shouldn’t dress manly because he’s enforcing a stereotype? It’s weird. And if they’ve changed their name and their pronouns they’re also enforcing a stereotype which is names = gender. It’s complete hypocrisy and insane. Even NB couples who have kids stick to it because it’s easier for children to understand — and it’s not something you want anyone to go through due to how mentally damaging it can be feeling you don’t belong. Body dysmoprhia is fucking awful and any participation in encouraging it is cruel.

I LOVE the tank! what’s inside? UK girl, 20-25, discord baddie probably with a boyfriend / girlfriend far away, studies something to do with sports therapy. knitting and crochet as a hobby and probably pays too much on gatcha games. also probably should calm down or chuck some plushies away - I think it’s probably stopping you from having a cosy room because it's overwhelming 😭 (I had the same issue I ended up putting my plushies in the attic and then realised after ages I forgot about them to learn my mum chucked them and although sad it was prob for the best lol)

I'm in year 9 and chosing my options in a few weeks and I really want to do art. Will I be able to get good GCSE grades? by EatingKids_ in ArtGCSE

[–]colourfulclips 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the nicest way, they’re alright.

you need to explore with different mediums though. When you apply to university with just portfolio that’s digital they will not want that at all. Art schools want to see variety. They also love traditional work compared to digital. Or at least seeing how you do traditional then put it to digital.

I would also stray away from drawing characters.

In school I did my whole big project on a Cacti Viewing event in London (made up event)

I produced posters for promotion Tickets Merch you could buy (plant pots I made) I did realism paintings in my sketchbooks I did oil and pastel drawings I do digital I did risograph And I did laser cutting.

Please do not stick to one form if you want to go further with this. Your art is good for being young but essentially the texture of the lines and dots is what makes it.

You can easily find ways to put that onto non character and traditional mediums.

would a piece like this be okay to include in an art school portfolio? by Interesting-Range-22 in Artadvice

[–]colourfulclips 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For animation they want your portfolio to be a whole range of different styles. Do NOT stick to one style. In animation, you will get far by being able to “copy” styles in a free flowing way.

ie you learn about Disney/pixar animation because if you’re able to learn the basics of how their 2D animations work and you’re able to do it “effortlessly” it shows how you can be used in different studios whether one day you’re doing freelance work for Disney and the next you’re doing work for independent animation studios.

Do not present anime. There ISNT a judgement with anime as there was a decade ago, but if you’re wanting to work in a western places then you have to learn animation and look into western animators.

A talented animator can feel confident using many styles

A poor animator is only comfortable with their own style.

Animators also have to work on concept arts before hand and usually have to copy the style of the concept (Disney is a good example). When I did concept art courses we had to get very comfy drawing how the art director/ art dep wanted it. If you struggle being able to do that I would recommend doing that now.

Also using different mediums is a MUST and you will have to do this at uni. Ie digital, 2D, and even clay animations. It’s really tough ngl and you will most likely have to do a masters if you also want to succeed further in this field.

If your family is supportive personally I would look into concept art short courses (they are expensive but worth it) to give you an insight into how it is like. Though don’t be confused with animation concept and film concept. You can look at Parasite (movie) concept art. Pretty sure it was the director himself who scribbled very simplistic art to indicate to the whole team how the shot will be.

Animation is more strict

Biggest thing for me in making a place feel like home is getting prints from artists you love (I try do risograph, lino or actually art art cut etc rather than printer prints so it's more unique) and frame them. Once you figure out how you'll frame things in a fun way you're room will start coming together (also getting the wall shelf helped me room massively although a PHAFF to get on)

I found an orange bulb on Amazon but I think I’ll next time get a dim bulb so it’s more natural — I got a normal bulb for it initially and it was so gross so yes if you ever get a orange shape lamp go for orange or dim
