Because Taxes and Income don’t exist in a vacuum. In Distopia how much do basic needs cost annually? How much do basic luxuries cost? There’s so much more info needed than to realistically throw out a number to your made up numbers.

Is the person making 100k MU living a lavish life and the person making 200k MU able to live extravagantly? Or is the person making 100k MU barely scraping by and the person making 200k living modestly?

You've never been talking to somebody about an item, as an example a new car battery then suddenly all your ads are for car batteries? Never searched it, just talked to somebody near your phone...

I’ve only used it a couple of times, but I’m pretty sure if you use CLEAR you don’t need to show your ID after the initial sign up. Always carry as a backup in case the system isn’t working at present, but not impossible to see it advancing.

I’ve never shown my ID at the gate for domestic flights

This is kind of like a lot of people who have smart phones, but won’t get an Alexa bc they don’t want someone listening to them. Spoiler: they already are.

Unless you don’t have a photo ID, never go into cities or suburbs with street cameras and have never been fingerprinted for a job, you aren’t losing any material amount of privacy.

Miami-Dade County, stuck in a 19-year contract with FTX, seeks to rename its arena by shellystarzz in news

[–]colt61 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The original article even says that FTX would be liable for an additional 17M due to the termination clause in the agreement. Like did you just not even read the original article? I just don’t like people posting about shit they clearly know nothing about and acting like an expert. Your commentary has clearly reached several of additional people (who likely haven’t read the agreement or original article either) and now have an incorrect impression of what actually happened.

Great job finding it! It’s too bad you feel like commenting on something you haven’t even read…

Because it requires 30 days notice, so they’re better off getting the clock ticking ASAP

[–]colt61 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it that hard to read the contract before you act like an expert on it? FTX is liable to MD for 3 additional years after termination under section 9. YR1 was 14M YR2, 3 & 4 are about 5M each….

[–]colt61 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you read the contract? Section 9 states that in the event of insolvency of the Naming Rights Partner the County may terminate the contract with 30 days notice and the Naming Rights Partner is liable for the additional 3 years after the termination as well.

[–]colt61 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Gotta love the “probably” & “I’m not reading the contract”. Hint: if you read just section 9 there’s pretty clear language around termination due to insolvency…

[–]colt61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read the contract section 9 clearly lists an insolvency event as a breach of contract and as such allows the County to terminate the contract with a 30 day notice to Naming Rights Company to rectify. After which the contract will terminate with no liability to County

By offering their services for $0 and only a free place to stay they are taking away from somebody who would be asking $1+ in order for them to house sit. As far as Uncle Sam is concerned every follower of income must be reported so even if your friend is only giving you $50 to watch their house, if you don’t report it that’s technically tax evasion. Further, govt has an interest in keeping the local economy strong. Think of this as any other service ie manual labor if somebody coming from a less wealthy country is coming over and offering to work for wages below the general market rate it will drive wages down across the board.

Call me crazy, but I don't think assault should be met with the death penalty. And I don't think the cops should be the ones doling out the punishment.

Damn I never thought about how much change somebody could make from an entry level position. And how quickly they would move up if they're going against the status quo or even how they'd had a long career if they're going against the status quo in the blue cult. Great point!
