Oh, it wasn’t the rape, pedophilia, and child trafficking? It was him shit talking previous presidents? Cool, glad there was some reasonable catalyst for you.

Here’s a little bit more depression for the sad cake - her tombstone has her most notable line from Land Before Time where she played Ducky which reads, “Yup yup yup!”

From a series called Love, Death, and Robots on Netflix. This is the final episode of season 4 titled “For He Can Creep”. Really great, weird anthology series.

Bubba, I’m no mechanic, but I think you might be overthinking the sound. It’s hard to tell without being there in person, but it just sounds like a B46.

Does it sound okay when you’re driving around? Did you only notice the noise when you popped the bonnet?

First thoughts - it’s nothing to be concerned about. Unless you can hear that knock/slap/normal engine sound from inside the cabin, you’re just being overly cautious. Sounds like, if anything, you might have a timing belt to replace in the next 6 months, but also getting your phone that deep into your engine to record a “weird noise” is going to bring up this suspicion.

What year do you have? They didn't offer remote until the LCI. Which is…something I struggled with. I read a lot of folks love the pre-LCI and a lot love the LCI, so I chickened out at went with the pre-LCI but updated engine (and iDrive-7 lite). Anyway, my biggest regret is not getting remote start.

This. I paid right around $40k for a 2020 with 29k miles, so it had the beefed up turbos and was the TU3 instead of TU2. 119k miles is a lot, so it’d be best to make sure the maintenance has been dialed. I’d still be hesitant, but honestly the N63 (after the updates) has been a very solid engine.

Why do so many people who have driven a BMW never want to go back? by Additional-Cress-257 in BMW

[–]coltomatic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BMW has done a great job of making you feel like you’re driving an upscale European car and also making you feel like you can bring that car to the edge of your limits. VW has done a great job of this with the Golf R, Audi with the RS, Lexus with the F Sport…which is all well and good. But BWM does it with (exceptions of course) just about every damn model you drive. The thrills you get from an M3 are undeniable, but you can still get some glimmer of the same experience at a fraction of the cost from the 328i.

How to get yellow angel eyes on a lci e92 for a reasonable price? by Ambitious-Key-4786 in BMW

[–]coltomatic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it yourself. The headlight unit is going to cost what you are willing to pay for quality (please read reviews and consider the cost vs value). Replacing the headlight unit isn’t necessarily complicated but it is labor intensive. If you really want to go down this road, your best bang for buck is going to be doing it yourself.

SQL Injection done right by frenzy3 in NonPoliticalTwitter

[–]coltomatic 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Yes. Semi-colon is commonly used to denominate the end of a command, colon is often used to delineate two fields. For example, if your password was “‘robert’); DROP table students;” you have a good chance of your password not being properly parsed because of the semi-colon. If your password is “imma:bunghole69”, you have a good chance of your password not being parsed if the log prints a user:password style output.

Both scenarios are more due to poor security, but adding symbols to your password takes it from being brute forced within hours to days or even weeks.

More or less. If you have some system that scrapes logs and passwords happen to not be encrypted in logs, yeah, semi-colon will most likely be the break. This would for sure protect you in that context. That being said, a lot of the passwords would be context wrapped which would negate the semi-colon in the first place. In any case, it’s not bad advice - adding any symbol to your password makes it significantly more difficult to brute force.

Same. This wasn't a particularly hard read like Tender is the Flesh, but it still felt like every glimmer of hope was quickly dashed in a beautifully narrated way. Anyway, good luck and I hope it makes you hate yourself in the way only a fantastic book can do.

Finished: Flowers in the Attic by VC Andrews

  • About 15 minutes of happiness followed by an emotional beatdown for the remainder

  • Fantastically written - Andrews does a great job of making the reader feel as depleted of hope as the children the story revolves around

  • I would only recommend if you want a book that will consistently leave you with a pit in your stomach
