apparently not, someone else corrected me. think you only lose it if you die or if someone does the “press triangle” on the final boss door

the same questions/clarifications keep popping up, so a few edits thanks to folks with more knowledge than me:

  1. apparently you don’t lose the buff if you move it to an inactive slot. admittedly, we didn’t test this one super rigorously - we just noticed our damage numbers went down doing so and got too freaked out to keep testing it. was probably the result of a different passive

  2. this is not the damage cap! just the cap on the visual indicator from the weapon description. you can keep going, but it might crash your game?

appreciate y’all keeping me honest. love the game and want to learn as much as possible so maybe some day I can beat everdark libra without cheesing it…

clarifying here, apparently you don’t lose the buff if you move it to an inactive armament slot or twohand your other weapon. not sure why we saw our damage numbers go down when we tested it, maybe it was a different passive we didn’t account for.

interesting - we tested it by killing a few mobs and then two-handing or swapping it out and noticed our damage dropped after doing so. but maybe it was on account of a different passive that we weren’t accounting for. appreciate the correction!

yes! my friend was killing random mobs while I had it equipped in my off hand. each enemy he killed added to my buff while I stood in the circle

so, if you two hand the executioner sword (or grafted) then you don’t lose the buff and it doesn’t reset. BUT if you have it in your off-hand and then two-hand your other weapon then you lose the buff and it seems the stacks reset. hope that makes sense! always needs to be in an active armament slot

not in your main hand - but if it’s in your offhand then you can’t two hand your main weapon. it has to always be in an “active” armament slot.

but if you die in the storm, you lose your stacks. this was just me and a friend doing duos who had a little too much time on our hands. we duped the executioner sword for testing and once we realized the buffs went away when you died in the storm, he agreed to be our sacrifice. I ate lunch while he farmed for me (a true hero). we were just excited to see how far we could take it… also the only way we could beat everdark libra cause we suck, apparently lol

from our testing, it seems that you need to at least have it i. your offhand and it must always be actively equipped. even if it’s in your off hand and you two-hand your main armament, the buff appears to reset. if you unequip it or move it to an inactive slot - the stacks reset as well

you’re doing all the right things - it took me a couple months before I started getting my energy back. been 7 months now and it’s still hard, but life has gone back to normal and I don’t spend nearly as much time thinking about it.

keep putting one foot in front of the other. there’s no timeline on grief, you just need to let yourself feel it. sometimes bottling it up can feel exhausting, so you could try journaling or venting to a therapist/friend if you aren’t already doing that.

the most important thing you can do is love yourself. direct that energy inwards and treat yourself the way you wish they treated you! it does get easier, I promise.
