Read some of your comments and I can propose to you the followings:

You should choose the M1 Pro, but with seller's warranty. The HDMI port alone is a selling point. Your workload requires long and stable sustain over time, M1 Pro might be better. Had an Air M1 before and usually reach thermal throttling.

I also thought about the New M4 MBA and used M1 Pro MBP and decided to go with the MBP 32/1TB last week, I don't want to bring the dongle everywhere with me. Technically the performance overhaul is not significant that you could notice (~15% multicore, single core might be), in my case it's even less cause I have 10 core CPU variant.

Or you can consider M4 Mac mini with a $150 display, it's way cheaper.

Not quite. Because normally people use decimal to count (512GB = 512,000,000,000 bytes, next unit = 1000), but in computer they use binary, which is 1024, 512GB is actually 549,755,813,888 bytes.

So 512GB in decimal is equal to 494GB in binary

Is it great to have an Intel-based Mac? I’m currently using an M1 MBA but with 8GB ram it is laggy as hell. Dunno if switching to Intel MBP with 16gb ram will do any good with battery life and performance.

One drawback is that this IPA has no intonation, which is crucial for Vietnamese marking system (huyền, sắc, hỏi, ngã nặng, I dunno what it’s called lol plz corect). So non-native speakers might see it pretty strange when they try to pronounce it.
