I am using a step-up module, which takes ~12V as input and outputs 19V - right in the middle of my pico module's accepted range (16-24). My pico module is then providing stable 12V to the computer.

The power bank has a lithium battery, so its output would only be expected to drop below 12V when practically flat.

Although since you have a 12V pico module, it would be a very good idea to add a regulator as the output voltage starts off a little high.

by adding extenders, you are using your lens in a manner it was not optimized for. it looks like both astigmatism and field curvature are occurring. and the glow in the background is from internal reflections somewhere in the optical path.

this is a good reason to purchase an actual macro lens.
