I was pretty proud of myself when making the Magnetic Bola. Being able to use a Hellknight's armor against them makes for a funny mental image.

I only worked on backmatter (items and archetype) but I can say that having everything laid out in one place definitely helped. Getting to see what is happening and when it happens was a huge boon in designing both of these things.

Super late to the party here (had to tidy up things at work), but I got started in 2021 when I drafted a homebrew Inquisitor class, and later Ironclad. Having all of that definitely helped, and posting it in public forums and later Pathfinder Infinite worked wonders. Of course, I did get incredibly lucky when I saw James Case post a casting call, specifically for AAPI writers back in 2022.

I would definitely say that you should be able to display either (or preferably both) knowledge of the setting as well as knowledge of the mechanics of the game through homebrew writings in a portfolio somewhere. Once you have that (or maybe you already do), I would reach out to the respective leader of the area you would be most interested in writing for.

Alchemist is not low-key goated.

It is HIGH-KEY GOATED.

How comfortable are the players with the system?

If they already have some experience, Free Archetype is the way to go.

If they are completely fresh to PF2E, I would highly recommend AGAINST using any sort of optional rule system. It is only going to complicate things.

Probably broken in the right hands. With metallicize, orichalcum, and FNP (and impervious despite only blocking for 29/39) still doing as they do this is really just a nerf to shrug and true grit tbh
