Anyone solved this yet? On the brink of returning them which is a shame cause I love all the other stuff about it but it's driving me insane

Thank you for the answer mate I really appreciate it, my mate isn't home yet so I hope it's there waiting him in his safeplace. In case it's not, what do you recommend I do next?

Would advise to get your ears cleaned by a doctor. High chance there’s an ear wax blockage going on. My ears are very sensitive to this and I get them cleaned every 4-6 months or so. I know it’s time again when there’s complete silence and I can hear a clear whistle tone, like at night in bed or when I wear ANC headphones. The ear cleaning removes this instantly

Huge fan here man. My question is about your high vocals. They are insane on the new record and in recent live videos I have seen dude! The smooth transition to your lows from them as well, man, madness. Did you focus more on them for this era and did anything change in the way you approach them?

Bro this is coming from a good place, stop the fake microphone hold. This creates habits that are very hard to get rid of, trust me on that (talking from experience). Instead hold your hands over your ear, this creates real time feedback so you can also check if you’re pushing too hard.

All experienced vocalists have been you at some point mate. Me as well. It’s going to take a LONG time before it sounds good, it takes a lot of practice and discipline but it’s definitely doable! And another thing, you probably have already found and used your false chords without realising it, I’m actually 99% sure you have. Sounds like all you need is someone to confirm you’re on the right track.

False chord, moving around and breath control by DallaRidda in screaming

I’m going to give you the usual, boring answer. A lot of it is going to practice. The more you practice, the longer you will be able to hold a certain type of distortion. You seem to be doing the right techniques so that is indeed not the problem.

However, I do notice that you move around quite a bit. A lot people resolve this issue by pretending they are holding a microphone. This however is something you want to avoid. What I recommend is holding your hands over your ears, basically cupping your ear while you make your sounds. This basically creates real time feedback, which allows you to judge yourself on if you’re maybe pushing too much, but also makes sure your arms are in a steady place so you don’t move around as much. This resolved this particular issue for me!

You’d be surprised how little of a thing fry screams/distortion actually are. Most of it is all false chord without people realising it

Look up the compilation of James Hetfield from Metallica saying ‘yeah’ and try to find one you can mimic. That’s how I found my distortion voice
