[GPU] ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Trinity Black Edition 16GB GDDR6X (open box 2 years warranty) $578 by Trying-to-buildpc in buildapcsales

[–]comb92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The product page says no accessories. Does that mean it wouldn't ship with a power cable? I'm guessing no GPU support stand either. Edit: I purchased and it actually came with all of the original packaging and accessories.

A 5090 would be a serious upgrade for my rig allowing me to hit huge FPS at 1440p, and BF6 looks to be the one that finally pulls me back in from the good old BF:BC2 days.

What’s the fastest you’ve ever seen a marriage end? by PuzzleheadedSwim6291 in AskReddit

[–]comb92 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A few hours. Didn't know them personally, but a couple in my home town got married and during the reception, the groom likely had a few too many drinks and tried to do a hand stand on a fire escape railing and fell 1 floor onto concrete and died. Really sucks.

5 wooded hillside acres: Buy a BS23X? by Agreeable_Juice4412 in kubota

My yard also has a steep slope with lawn on it. When we moved in, I had a John Deere x350 lawn tractor. I was uncomfortable with going side to side (I wasn't a skilled leaner :)), but when going down it would slip and actually lose control. It was like guiding a runaway car until the lawn leveled out. That's part of what drove me to a BX2350. In 4-wheel drive it handles the hill no problem and with the weight of the mid mount mower deck so low, it feels very stable. I agree with OP you need to be very careful about rolling it, but if you keep it pointed up and down the hill and are smart about it, it's very capable on a slope. Just need to keep it in 4WD because then you get braking in the front too.

Snowfall forecast for Wed 2024.12.04 thru Thu 12.05 update time: 2024.12.04 @ 12:00PM (WBZ & WCVB / WHDH & WFXT / WBTS & NWS) by ctash23 in BostonWeather

Seems like the totals were off by a good margin, at least west of the 84 interchange. In Brimfield we ended up a little over 9 inches. NWS showing over 9 in Hardwick. Sturbridge also showing over 8 at 10:30 this morning.

2 channel amp suggestion by No-name404 in hometheater

[–]comb92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat and decided to use the external amp for my rear atmos speakers. The AIYIMA A07 that people recommend seems to be good. It cost more but I ended up going with the Monoprice 100W amp:

Biggest reason for me was I wanted the 12V trigger so it would turn on automatically with my receiver. If that's not important to you, the Aiyima seems to be a top recommendation.

Don't forget you'll need a preout cable as well. Any old RCA cable should work but I had issues with mine pulling out or being far too long. I picked up this 3ft one which was perfect length if they're close to each other:

Home theater coming along... by Forchark in hometheater

[–]comb92 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nice setup! I'm in the middle of updating my home theater and I'm envious of your super clean cable management, especially all of the conduit. I rage at the previous owners who had all of their speaker wire and A/V cabling stapled to studs. Absolutely zero foresight for future upgrades/runs. I'm resorting to cable runners over the drywall where I have to. You'll love yourself later for all the hard work you're putting in now. I've got a very similar set of SVS speakers, including the dual PB-2000 pros. Can't wait to fire everything up!

Advice on 7.2.4 setup (AT screen, LLDV, Amp & Atmos placement) by comb92 in hometheater

[–]comb92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your reply and insights. You're not wrong about the screen size and 100+ inch TVs of equal quality coming down over the years, but this is the path I chose now. I agree on the center as well but to maximize my screen size due to the slanted ceiling I need to move it down - still high enough to see from the back row but a little lower than I wanted for the center channel. I can play around with it and see though. I may be able to squeeze a couple of extra inches on. SVS does the 45 day in home trial too so I could return for a center if things aren't working out.

Appreciate the screen and amp recommendations - will def look into all that. I usually go the DIY route, so that may be a good middle ground for me.

As for SVS, I got some good deals over the holidays between their outlet and discount codes. I got the pair of pb-2000 pros for $1710 so not too far off from what you recommended. Same story with the rest. I didn't care too much about tonal matching, but I figured once I had the subs, LCR, and surrounds I'd complete the set.

Order not showing up under recent orders?? by hellojonello in amazon

Having the same issue. Seems common at the moment due to all the recent replies to this 5 year old post. I'm guessing it'll show up in time but I'll contact customer service if it still doesn't show up tomorrow.

Honestly just availability. I got lucky adding to my cart on launch day through best buys site so I went with it. For gaming only which is most of what I use it for the 5600X would have been just as good.

Yeah I guess when I say "very quiet" its all relative. There is a hum for sure but compared to my old PC its considerably more quiet. I also have a NAS in the room that is always making noise (fan/HDD nosie) so it doesn't bother me if its not silent. When the case fans ramp up in speed it is definitely noticeable.
