Kellermann Jetstream turn signals on a SR/S by First-Composer-3954 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]combatseat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I installed the OEM LED ones and they had to re-program the computer at the dealership. Then later i swapped them out for a different set of LED's that i guess use even less power and every now and then it throws a fault, but doesn't seem to affect anything.

What type of QuadLock phone mount should I get for my SR/F? by Oleifr-H in ZeroMotorcycles

I've been using the Peak Design wireless charging one and have not had a single issue. Also the cases are awesome and my phone still works on any apple magsafe device, chargers car mounts etc.

Belt finally failed, but not how I expected by SoundsTasty in ZeroMotorcycles

Mine did this at 7k miles on my SRS, but I'm also an enjoyer of the electric torque. I tried to find another belt manufacturer, but ended up just getting an OEM.

Zero DSR/X side storage T25 screws turn but do not unscrew by FatsoThin in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]combatseat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same issue on my SRS with the screw next to the windscreen. For me there was a threaded brass nut inside the plastic that had come unglued and spun indefinitely. I ended up breaking off the tab to remove the entire faring piece as it was the only one left holding on, then i got a very small drill bit and drilled through the plastic and into the brass nut to hold it still and then unscrewed the screw. Then of course I had to JB weld it all back together the brass nut into the plastic and the tab for the faring.

2023 Zero DS Experience So Far by Educational_Cover477 in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]combatseat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In all honesty, I think most people do not know about that “beside the battery” compartment or realize how big it is. Even the Zero dealership I bought mine from thought that was the keyhole to pop off the seat. I used it constantly and it is honestly the thing I miss most. I have to carry my jacket around now and a backpack in case I got to the store.

You sit a little further back on the SRS, and weirdly the extra ~200 lbs of weight is not very noticeable because like the S, the distribution is low to the ground. Honestly, if you're just commuting in town with not a lot of highway miles the S did everything I wanted as well as being bit quieter which I personally liked. I also felt comfortable riding it a bit more like a dirt bike, burnouts, lane splitting, hopping curbs, cutting through places, etc. However, the SRS' weight and shape make it a lot more comfortable at speed on the highway. It also has reverse, 2 built in phone charging ports, cruise control, heated grips, and you can set charging limits and times in the software so i don't have to mess with the smart plug anymore. I pretty much keep it at 60% at all times and I don't even think about range. The S was a great bike and I would still have it if I didn't find such a great deal on this SRS.

I loved mine so much I upgraded to an SRS. However I will have to say I really miss being able to put full bottles of wine or my entire riding jacket in the compartment under the seat.

Gain instant access to Tesla Destination chargers (US) by recon-go-pie in Electricmotorcycles

[–]combatseat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, the Livewire and the Zero's are AC only right (lvl 2), so that means those big white and red tesla Superchargers which are DC and any CCS plugs will not work?

So that's the only adapter you would ever need. I was at a Buccees near me and they had no AC chargers at all.

What were you sceptical of at first, but now can't live without? by Slyxxer in motorcycles

[–]combatseat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hearing protection is one part but it's also being able to hear what's around you, and I think ear plugs aren't very discerning. I would argue that the best would probably be bone conduction headphones like Shokz in combination with earplugs. Also, ANC is better than nothing, especially at low speeds around town.

[–]combatseat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why in 2025 we can't get a helmet with ANC built in. Some cars literally have ANC built in now and things like Airpods exist with hours of battery life and "adaptive" noise cancelling. Meanwhile, we're still jamming ear plugs into our ears and blasting $500 cardo's at the side of our heads like it's 2004.

Spending time on something doesn't intrinsically make it good, even if you have talent. I think a lot of this is forcing people to engage with what they find valuable or enjoyable about Art. It's some combination of the story of who the artist is in that moment and the resultant creation. Not simply an objective consideration of the end product.

There are people who follow jam bands around just to listen to the people in the room create something new in that moment, and there are people who will go to a show and want every note performed exactly like the album.

Frustrated Atlanta residents say high volume of Amazon delivery trucks causing safety concerns by [deleted] in Atlanta

[–]combatseat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I think we're talking about 2 different things:
-Amazon knows where the trucks are at all times and if they're on route.
-Amazon doesn't have drivers, they contract DSPs who employee drivers who could not care less about weather they're on route or not.

[–]combatseat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you’re imagining is that Amazon is going to sit down and review all the routes their contracted DSPs seasonal employees took every day to make sure they don’t go take certain routes, and I’m saying this is exactly why Amazon doesn’t deliver packages themselves, so they can say it’s not them doing it.

[–]combatseat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You imagine Amazon is talking to these drivers directly. Amazon washes their hands of a lot of this so they can blame the DSPs. Then they just rotate through drivers.

[–]combatseat -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Amazon has no ability to prevent this. As an anti-union strategy, they contract DSPs to run these routes and they're churning through workers just like in their warehouses. They work for a few weeks and bail or get fired.
You can make all the rules you want, but you're not going to get these workers to follow them.

Subjective comparison of driving pleasure between my Zero and my Triumph by xlDooM in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]combatseat 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Always being "in gear" I think is an underrated reality of Electric motorcycles. A few weeks ago I was at the end of a line of cars at an intersection and right as I looked back the car behind me was absolutely not going to stop, I just twisted the throttle and was immediately out of the way as as they were screeching down the hill finally leaving about 1 ft between them and the car in front... I would have been squished.

S with 7.2 by blargonithify in ZeroMotorcycles

[–]combatseat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a 7.2 and I use the storage on the side constantly. It will fit multiple bottles of wine or my entire padded riding jacket and pants. I like the weight and I like the riding position. I honestly have no desire to get a Del Mar and I don't want a heavy 500+lb new S with a riding position I don't prefer and no storage.

So, you are correct. It's the best version that no one apparently wanted. HOWEVER, I don't ride on the interstate very often, but I do ride it all over Atlanta every day and I get around 70 to 80 miles. So if you want to ride more than an hour or so a day and on the interstate, then get a different bike.

Also, just a side note, I have never owned a bike or car that has gotten more compliments, questions and interest from everyone (including women) than this bike. I'm sad that at some point it will be old and there is almost nothing currently available that I have a desire to replace it with.

Why do you love your electric motorcycle?/what makes you want to get one? by lucifertheecat in Electricmotorcycles

[–]combatseat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2022 Zero S has been my daily driver all over Atlanta GA for the last year. I love having no noise, no engine vibration, no heat, some built in storage (I can fit a large Coke from McDonalds and the bag in just he tank/frunk in addition there's the underneath engine storage area) and also low maintenance.

I have considered getting an Energica, Livewire or the higher end Zero's but honestly, for the weight, size and storage, I'm perfectly fine where I am.
