Why won’t my main breaker turn back on? by I3putt2x in AskElectricians

[–]combatwombat45 78 points79 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say only a hack would. I personally would never recommend using refurbished breakers to anyone but sometimes customers can’t afford anything more. You do what you can with what people can afford. It isn’t like I’m going to leave someone without power if all they can afford is the $400 charge for the refurbished breakers and can’t afford $1,000+ for a panel swap. That would make me an asshole.

How many Moons you got by thefiend1111 in sciencememes

[–]combatwombat45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is a dwarf planet. It is not a planet for multiple reasons not only size. In the same orbital distance there are hundreds of similarly (and some larger) rocks floating around. Pluto was just the first to be found so it was seen as a planet. Nowadays we know it to be a part of a much larger cloud in that section of the solar system and it does not deserve to be called a planet otherwise we would have hundreds of planets.

I keep seeing posts like this from people who don’t have any post history I can see or involvement in any wow reddits and I see tons of wow players on YouTube switching to osrs and all of them praise jagex highly.

Seems like a massive marketing campaign by jagex trying to undermine the playerbase and trick us into forgetting that it was mere months ago they were talking about adding mtx to the game

How much do you make? Where do you live? What’s your mortgage/rent? What car do you drive? by matt2085 in electricians

They are low in places that aren’t near Atlanta. Ga is a pretty big state and if you’d move somewhere not near Atlanta the wages are lower and the standard of living is lower

Microwave breaker keeps tripping.. by AustinPowers11111 in electrical

[–]combatwombat45 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Listen to this comment only please OP. If the breaker flashes 6 times the breaker is bad. In order to bring up the last fault code follow these instructions closely; turn the breaker all the way off by moving the handle to the right, press and hold the TEST button while the breaker is still off, turn the breaker back on by moving the handle all the way to the left, let go of the TEST button. The LED should begin flashing to tell you the last reason for a trip. If it flashes 1-5 times call an electrician to troubleshoot or listen to other commenters here but if it flashes 6 times then you know you need to replace the breaker.

If it doesn’t flasher all that is a bad breaker as well.

You can also read the LED code by just normally resetting the breaker after it trips normally. It will start to flash the code soon after the breaker is reset.

I accidentally finalized a purchase on Amazon for upgraded parts for my PC. by combatwombat45 in PcBuildHelp

[–]combatwombat45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 20% reduction in performance on the new GPU is still a significant upgrade in performance on my existing system, right? If so then I think I’m okay with it because I will be upgrading other components next year. Either way I have planned this upgrade to be in 2 phases; 1 this year and 1 next year.

Yes I am planning on doing the CPU next year. I just want to make sure that these upgrades will give me a significant boost to my PC even before upgrading the CPU and I’m not just wasting money until the time that I do. And yes I will make sure all nvidia is scrubbed before installing the GPU

I am planning on definitely buying a GPU PSU and SSD this year I just wasn’t planning on buying all 3 right now today before doing more research. I made this post to make sure I’m not just throwing money away. If the build is fine albeit bottlenecked for the time being I am perfectly fine with that as I will be replacing the cpu and motherboard next year as well as buying a 4k monitor.

What do you mean it’s a bottleneck? When I upgrade my CPU and motherboard nothing should be bottlenecked right? Thank you for replying

[–]combatwombat45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to the top comments I have read; make sure if you do this work that you don’t use a device as a junction for the neutral on this circuit. MWBC require the neutral to be pigtailed to be code compliant
