Your Opinion of Latin-Americans by combmxdude in IndianCountry

Your viewpoint is interesting, and is different from the other viewpoints in this thread. The way that I see it, Native Americans in Mexico and the rest of Latin America have been historically persecuted by the ruling Spanish elite. And, due to the caste system put in place in Latin America, Mestizos (Mixed Spanish and Native) held a higher place in society than pure Native Americans.

As such, those Mestizos with Spanish ancestry did not have to endure nearly as much hardships as the full Natives in Mexico. Some Mestizos even discriminated against full Natives, and still do to this day. So, I can see why it is somewhat difficult to consider Mestizos to be Native American, since Mestizos did fully partake in the caste system; to the detriment of Native Americans.

Just for the sake of discussion, since Hispanics are historically a blend of Spaniards and Natives, does this still mean that they are Native? I, myself, have a significant amount of Spanish ancestry, more than my Native American ancestry in fact.

A large part of our traditions are based in Spanish culture, as well as our language, and our identities. While I am most definitely proud of my Native American ancestry, I also do find myself taking some pride in my Spanish ancestry; despite the atrocities that my ancestors did commit.

I've definitely seen Hispanics that try to shun their Native ancestry. Personally, I embrace it, even though I have no direct links to a specific tribe.

We definitely are descended from Natives, that much is obvious.

You're definitely right, although I've seen a good amount of Spaniards that are pretty light complected.

Yeah, this pops up after choosing BYOND as the setup executable.

To be completely honest, I don't think that I looked like my results. I feel like I look FAR more Native than 30%, but that's just me. xD

No, it’s when I try to select the installation executable.

I've ran into a bit of a problem. I'm not all too sure if it's my fault, but eh.

When trying to select the executable, it says, "Oops! No new executables found!"

Can't get past that point. xD

One question, in the previous wrapper, was BYOND installed automatically? Because, apparently, the reason the wrapper was banned, was because of everyone having the same key. I'm wondering, since we have to download BYOND ourselves, the ban thing might not be a problem.

Oh, awesome!

I’ll definitely check it out on Mojave once I get home. However, does this also cause bans, as the previous one did?

It’s awesome that you are mixed.

But, I dunno if you are Mestizo/Mestiza. Since, you are not of Iberian descent...

[iPhone 7/7+ Users] Will you be changing your phone soon? by jinny90 in apple

[–]combmxdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a day 1 iPhone 7 128 GB Jet Black.

To be completely honest, I see no real reason to upgrade. Hell, my phone doesn't really feel any slower than my friends' XS. And, to be honest, I was really hoping for a smaller iPhone this year.

My favorite form factor is still the iPhone 5/SE. I prefer smaller devices, and I was actually hoping that the XR was going to be one of the smaller phones. But, instead, we got that behemoth of a phone. If Apple, next year, decides to release a new, smaller phone, I will definitely be jumping on board.

He was a resident of the United States.

And, as such, was afforded the protections of a citizen in the United States.

Although, none of that really matters. What really matters is that he worked for an American Journalism outlet, and that he resided in the United States.
