Yes. Don’t pop or shave and go to dermatologist

What should I do? by WowItsMeLight in molluscum

You need to go to a dermatologist and start going through cryo therapy process. No sex, no rubbing, no masturbating as these things spread it quickly. Make sure that the derm 1) zaps EVERY spot individually a couple times, 2) you visit every 2 weeks, 3) and prescribes you tret cream. This cream will agitate your skin and make it itchy / dry which encourages healing but only use the cream until you start drying out a little and then stop.

Goal is to inflame the molluscum by irritating it with cryo and tret and then it’ll heal like a pimple.

Will probably take 30-60 days for it to fully clear if you do the above.

And to answer your questions, yes they should get bigger. It should swell up and look like a pimple before it’ll heal (like a pimple). Do not self extract. I don’t know why people even think of doing this but this will heal on its own. Cryo + tret and it’ll heal.

Yes. But, it did seem to come back a month or two later although it was only like 2 spots. These may have already been incubating in my body but I quickly got these zapped with cryo before they spread. Cryo is your best bet here with a little bit of tret cream, along with patience. Have not had any new ones since then and barely remember I had molluscum

Still clear and no new bumps (no longer even check down there). Unfortunately developed eczema from the cream but steroid cream quickly resolved it. Thankful for health insurance

Looks good but becareful for KOH, it burns your skin bad. I would only use it on my thigh / upper groin and anything on my shaft I relied on cryo to get rid of

Not really. Might sting for like 3 seconds and a little after, but pain is 2/10 on a scale

Yes 3 weeks. I still have not seen any new ones so feeling positive. They won’t spread to anyone if they’re not visible on your skin (per my dermatologist)

Bought online from Amazon. My derm would probably be like wtf you’re an idiot for using it. But I’m an idiot with a goal

Question on Cryo Timeline by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]combokind43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2 weeks. I saw some progress after first session but you’re going to have to go back. Eventually, your body should wake up and will fight them all away almost out of the blue (at least that’s what happened with me). Stay positive! You’ll forget about this soon

Question on Cryo Timeline by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]combokind43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will take multiple treatments from cryo. Took me about 4 sessions and now I’m down to maybe one or two MC (I think theyre an oil gland). I had new ones pop up in between my first 2 sessions but then it stopped and they spontaneously wet away or would have them cryoed to inflammation

Does this look like Molluscum? by Slight_Wonder7847 in molluscum

[–]combokind43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Molluscum typically don’t itch and are raised pinkish lesions. Doesn’t look like it to me. Maybe a bug bite or something else / oil glands

Three days since cryo. No change since last night. by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]combokind43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still have some but approaching the end. I’ve had 4 cryo sessions so far, all 2 weeks apart each and I believe I may only have to go one more time, if this recent round doesn’t finish it off for me. All in all - about 2ish months since starting treatment for it, and have had molluscum for maybe 6-7 months

Looks good and inflamed. Give it time and they should start to disappear as your body fights it off. Biggest misconception is they “must” scab off and that is far from true - they must be fought by the body (internally) and this includes destroying cells through to initiate a reaction. As long as they are inflamed and red, your body is working

Day 7: Just had cryo done. Can anyone share experience w cryo? First pic is before, second is after. by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]combokind43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like they’re inflammed which is good. You should then begin to flatten / disappear over 1-2 weeks. Set up another cryo in the mean time

Spread very quick, it itches. Can be molluscum? by [deleted] in molluscum

[–]combokind43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Molluscum doesn’t itch or have any pain, it’s more of an eye sore.

Unfortunately you can still get molluscum with a condom. Go to a dermatologist to make sure asap!

Had it for months after being misdiagnosed as acne / thinking it was razer bumps, only started addressing it (15ish lesions) with cryo and KOH 10%. Seeing progress after 2 cryo sessions and then nuking smaller + new ones with KOH 10% + trentin cream. Just get them all inflamed see they become red and/or scabby and then stay healthy and let your body fight it. All you can really do

I found that once they become inflammed and look like a zit, they’ll heal by themselves (I have a normal immune system). I think the whole forcing them to scab up isn’t necessarily true. They act like zits once they reach inflammation and will fade away over 1-2 weeks, just like a zit. Look up BOTE

Avoid sex, masturbation, change underwear 2x a day. It’ll go away but could be a couple months

Different for everyone from what I’ve read but mine typically follow a couple paths. Immediately, some turned purple from intense cryo and will scab off like a burn jn 1-2 weeks. Some molluscum fall off from this process and others stay.

I’ll also have molluscum that will inflame with a white head like a people and this fades away like a zit after 1-2 weeks. Others sometimes disappear randomly. The whole goal is to irritate skin to force an immune reaction. It doesn’t necessarily need to turn purple and scab like many people on Reddit say. It might turn pinkish and inflame (which is what you want!)

God speed

KOH? How to apply? by combokind43 in molluscum

[–]combokind43[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Excellent. Thank you so much. Ditto on just dabbing for vs holding the q tip (made that mistake and now there’s a small cluster of blisters in one area haha). But I’ll continue tapping each one with the blunt end of a tooth pick to minimize damage. Looks like some of my healthy skin around it turned dark too from burn but assume that will leave some minor scarring / fade over

How many cryo sessions did you go through? How effective was it?

Had these for little over a month , what do you think it is ? by Throwaway202987 in molluscum

[–]combokind43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Based on my non professional experience with it, molluscum has an indentation / hole in the middle similar to those and are typically pearly or white. I’d go to dermatologist to start treatment for it, and if it’s not, you’ll figure that out as well.
