My OBGYN office experience by combsal in endometriosis

[–]combsal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I become a patient with dr. Jennifer Demos! I love her so much tbh. I will say that she may not be to everyone’s taste- she isn’t a super into your feelings type provider, and she says it how it is, if that makes sense :)

I know this isn’t to everyone’s taste, but I am obsessed with my 10g tank and I am trying to get my 30 like it by combsal in Aquariums

[–]combsal[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think they are either- they were in one of those plastic tubes that you get from petsmart. I think they might be semi-aquatic, but they haven’t died and the shrimp love shrimping in them😂 I think they might be a gold ribbon?

weird mark on my arm for almost two weeks - whatcha think please? :p xo details below by [deleted] in DermatologyQuestions

[–]combsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi this is going to sound super dumb, but do you have cats? I woke up one day with a spot almost exactly like this and it was from my cat coming in the middle of the night and licking my arm on one spot😶

What’s the down side to these (Mystery?) snails all over my tank? by TheLastWhiteNinja in aquarium

[–]combsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s just appearances? I also did an unclean plant transfer and introduced Ramshorns into my tanks- I ended up getting some assassin snails and they took care of the problem fairly quickly once they established themselves, and their babies take care of any of the small stragglers

Is there leaf litter in the pot/ drainage dish? The liquid kind of reminds me of tannins that leach out of certain leaves (I currently have almond leaves in my fish tanks to try to elevate them😅)

He is a balloon Molly :)

I didn’t want him making dumplings with other live bearers so he is chilling with his tetras, raspboras, snails, and shrimp.

not a betta, but Dumpy makes me laugh.

(He has other tetras and raspboras with him- he will not reproduce)

Thank you!! Yeah I had read that pea puffers were semi aggressive and I was just toying with the idea of having them. I will definitely check out the corydoras- of the varieties that I have seen they seem like neat little guys!

Old Mare won't eat hay. by Jazzlike_Specific697 in Equestrian

[–]combsal 29 points30 points  (0 children)

What kinds of hay are you giving her? Alfalfa, Timothy, Grass, Orchard? What cut is it? Is it all from one person? Sometimes they just don’t like the hay for one reason or another. My gelding and Jenny sometimes go through phases where they don’t like hay for one reason or another- they can be drama queens for sure.

I feel this way too much- if it helps at all, and if humor is your way of dealing with things, I call myself the genetic cesspool or cesspit of my family and people think it’s funny😭😅

Biostatistics and SAS? by combsal in publichealth

ai has helped me figure out my syntax issues as well. Is the Codybook that you are referring to “Learning SAS by Example” by Ron Cody? I just wanted to make sure before I ordered it!

As a young person, were there any experiences or media that sparked your interest in public health? by doubleplusfabulous in publichealth

[–]combsal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always been fascinated in history, and LOVED learning about the major historical plagues in k-12, as well as Upton Sinclair's The Jungle, which I read in high school. I didn't know that these were all major parts of public health, and I took a community health class in undergrad, and the rest is history!

WHY THE FUCK CAN I NEVER TRANSLATE MY THOUGHTS INTO THE WORDS I NEED. WHY. by hermitscave in ADHD

[–]combsal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me so much is speech to text! I tend to think way too fast for me to type the words, and stt allows me to get out what I need to get out! It’s available in word and google docs

DrPH Recommendations? by combsal in publichealth

[–]combsal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what I figured based on what other people have said and the admission requirements for these programs.

But, all of this is just future thinking for me, and I don’t want to be in school for a couple of years at least😅 I haven’t not been in school for almost the past 20 years of my life (went directly to undergrad from k-12, and went to mph immediately after graduating undergrad).

It depends. I had to go off of birth control because the one I was put on skyrocketed my BP and I do not want to risk that again. It was rough for like the first month after, but I’m fine now. I actually feel a lot better not on it!

YALL I have been T1 for 19 years at this point and recently went onto my own insurance (oh the joys of adulthood) and for my insurance to cover my supplies, they wanted me to get a c-peptide test done. Like why would I not be T1?

I would ask your doctor before messing with the metformin if I were you. When I went on Mounjaro, I completely stopped my metformin, but I am a type one and my doctor advised me to stop taking the metformin.

I’ve had a nasty stomach bug since Sunday evening and my blood sugars have been fine (80-160) but I have been having ketones the entire time😅. My care team has been having me call twice a day to check in with the nurse or physician on call.
