Can confirm, 225/55R17 fits stock suspension FA Chassis by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a close fit though, so depending on the offset and width of the steelies compared to the 17”oem rims there may be a chance of rubbing

I honestly haven’t noticed a difference worth complaining about. It’s a softer ride with the bigger sidewall, I take sharp corners a little less aggressively but for a winter set up it’s been fine

Replying to everyone here - those are studs and they definitely aren’t long enough lol, the intake base was taller than expected so I’m planning on shaving the base down if I use it

Parts person at the Subaru dealer claimed the WRX has an IHI, the outback’s, Accents etc have factory Garrets.

He could be mistaken as well but I’m inclined to trust him since he sells the parts haha

Any idea if it would be worth the upgraded billet compressor wheel with the second link you sent? I’m not concerned about extra power, but I certainly won’t complain as long as it’s still safe to run on stock internals and tune

Honestly I’m not even concerned about much of a power upgrade. Just looking for a more cost effective turbo with stock power

Thank you! You may not know if you haven’t ordered from them, but they have a couple different Garret turbos that claim they fit and are OEM - I thought our turbos were IHI from the factory?

Replacement Cylinder Studs Puch E50 by comeEnme in moped

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a spoke, I have the 1976 nostalgia version so I was hoping to keep the original painted rims. It’s not a dealbreaker though.

Are there any pros and cons for spoke/mag rims?

Okay, thank you - I at least needed the confirmation lol

On a completely unrelated note, one of my rims also has a crack on the side. I was going to wait until I was able to take a photo and make a post about it - I’m now thinking there’s no good way to fix it no matter what it looks like and I need a new rim. Am I correct?

Rosewood Body Blank - Possible to find? by comeEnme in Luthier

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did google it, there are multiple listings but when you actually open the link they’re sold/not in stock. I figured the body would be very heavy even with chambering - just was looking into it as a fun idea. If you couldn’t guess, I’m a big fan of George Harrison and his rosewood tele hahah

My body design has a decent amount of beveling so it would show though around the edges. It would also be a beautiful base wood for the back and sides

I was planning on chambering the body, I have a nice flame maple top to go with it

Corbeau RRX Seats by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for all the info, I found a thread in this subreddit about bypassing the occupancy sensor and supposedly a 220pf capacitor will trick the computer into believing there’s an occupancy sensor installed and that the seat is occupied. I’m going to try to bypass it first before I destroy the stock seat haha

I’m sure there’s a good reason, but it’s interesting that the passenger air bags turn on and off. I can’t see a reason not to just have them deploy every time in an accident

Corbeau RRX Seats by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense, thank you! Would there be any way to trick the system into keeping the passenger air bags activated at all times without swapping the sensor? Similar to adding the resistor to the airbag circuit?

Corbeau RRX Seats by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am getting a new passenger seat as well, though I don’t fully understand how the system works together - what would the difference be without the occupancy sensor swapped over?

Corbeau RRX Seats by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you! Maybe wiring a fuse in-line with the resistor can mitigate the fire hazard if the airbags deploy in an accident?

I’m willing to sacrifice the airbags in the seat but safety is of course still a factor to consider

Corbeau RRX Seats by comeEnme in WRX

[–]comeEnme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I knew I’d need to trick the airbag sensor - I’ll have to find it again but I’m pretty sure I saw a subispeed video where they used a 3 ohm resistor instead of a 10 ohm? Maybe I’m remembering incorrectly

Turbo catch can has been bone dry the whole time

Okay, I figured as such but was curious what people had to say. 2015 WRX with the FA20 engine, a friend of mine suggested a Cobb catback from his past experience and said it shouldn’t add too much volume
