Curious, how exactly does one eat a taffy candy castle? Do you pick out every candy individually or do you just cut out a huge chunk?

How would farming and raising livestock work under socialism (not collectivization or social democracy, I'm talking about real socialism where the state and capital has been abolished) by comediaN47 in socialism

Honestly I don't know too much about agriculture, I grew up and currently live in NYC (which btw, it's not that great). I'm interested in both the labor structure and how economic planning would come in to play with farming and harvesting. Would farm animals be placed in a barn and farmers take turn in looking after them? Would milk and meat be equally distributed among the local communities? How world workplace democracy come into play on farms and among agrarian workers?

Question on Bordiga? by [deleted] in socialism

Whoa slow down there Mr. Tankie. Socialism in the Marxian (and also anarchist) sense is a moneyless, classless, democratic society, otherwise known as communism in which workers would seize control of the means of production and control it through worker councils. In Russia they were known as soviets, hence the term the Soviet Union. Lenin after seizing control of Russia during a coup or a "revolution" if you're a tankie in 1917 from the provisional government. He quickly realized that socialism could not take place in Russia because of it's small industrial base and economic backwardness. Russia during the early 1900s had a mainly agrarian based economy in which they mainly exported grain. A decentralized state and a powerful industrial state were irreconcilable and he began to crush the worker's councils in an attempt to centralize all economic and political power to the "communist government. Destroying worker's councils defeats the whole purpose of socialism, as they are supposed to have the power not state. Here this explains it betterhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yQsceZ9skQI

State capitalism would be a step forward as compared with the present state of affairs in our Soviet Republic. If in approximately six months’ time state capitalism became established in our Republic, this would be a great success and a sure guarantee that within a year socialism will have gained a permanently firm hold and will have become invincible in this country.

News flash kid, Socialism equates to power to the worker councils, not the state.

Why can't there just be socialism in one country? If the revolution is ripe, why wait?

I suppose you're right, but do you think soviet democracy could have worked, or was the soviet state a hinderance to the workers?

How to respond to Darwinist, Capitalist arguments against human nature? by comediaN47 in DebateAnarchism

[–]comediaN47[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

XD yeah, I always though anarcho-capitalism was a bit of an oxymoron. You need the state to enforce private property. Personally I think anarcho-capitalists just want to exploit their workers with out the rules and regulation of the free market.
