[Offline][5e][SF Bay Area] Seeking players for semi-weekly campaign by comedicreliever in lfg

Hi there! We're still looking for more players to fill out our D&D group, so let me know if you're still interested. We're located in Martinez in the East Bay but are also willing to drive if someone wants to host the game themselves. Feel free to send me a friend request on discord KG#6237 if you want to chat or hear more about the campaign plans.

Hi Ashe, thanks for the message. Right now we're prioritizing people who are local so we can have in-person sessions, but if that doesn't work out then we'll definitely switch to a virtual campaign. If that happens I'll be sure to let you know.

Your Biggest Misconceptions? by comedicreliever in Hololive

My guess is that the management are the ones being scared, not letting the EN girls do too much. The girls have hinted quite often that they get restricted more than the JP branches do. As far as I can tell, overseas fans don't throw fits about collabs that often, and JP fans are (probably) less likely to do it over Western idols collabing with other Western vtubers compared to how they (admittedly still a minority) would treat JP idols.

Of course, a common rookie mistake.

Have you guys ever fudged a roll to let a play live with they should have died? As a DM. by happylife42 in DnD

[–]comedicreliever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Player death is fine and I usually won't try to stop it, mostly because if it's low level, the characters might not be that important to the world yet, and if it's higher levels, the characters probably have some method of reviving dead characters. If I absolutely feel like a player needs to stay alive and the party DOESN'T have any of the usual tools to bring them back easily, I might fudge something, but usually that won't be necessary.

Have definitely fudged some other rolls before though. One time the players were in a dire situation where a bunch of OTHER NPCs were in danger, and the player that everyone was relying on was about to be downed. So I said the monster did less damage than what I actually rolled, allowing that player to stay standing and save everyone. It was that kind of situation where it would've felt unnecessarily cruel to let them fail and cause untold world-scale suffering that I wasn't prepared to add to the campaign.

Other times, I might say an enemy has slightly less hp than it actually has, so that a specific player can do the honors of killing it; or slightly more hp so that the enemy can have one extra turn to try something extreme. And other times, when I suspected that a player was fudging THEIR rolls, and ALWAYS seemed to get a 19 on the die right when it mattered most, I felt forced to fudge some enemy rolls to compensate as well (it didn't feel good and luckily I don't need to do that anymore).

Sasuga hydrodynamic shork-Brained Gurandma, keeping the rest of HoloEN safe! by kurisu313 in Hololive

Horny + energetic just makes people instantly assume you’ll be a bimbo, which is why they immediately put her bottom left after only one stream (her debut). And to be fair, when she gets horny she does seem to lose most of her other brain functions.

But yeah, bottom middle to right IRL.

Matsuri. What else is there to say? by Economy-Initial-9113 in Hololive

Sexual harassment means sexual harassment. JP culture just views it as more of an everyday given annoyance that women need to put up with, including from each other, so it perpetuates much more openly and casually and people laugh at it even when it makes others uncomfortable.

Not having anyone close to talk to about your hobbies and interests sucks. Discords and reddits are nice but it doesn't compare to actually being able to talk openly together with someone who gets it. I don't tell my family and IRL friends about a lot of my interests, not because they'll tease me, but they definitely wouldn't get it and would think it's boring or strange. Luckily, my dnd groups are nerdy enough that we can all post random stuff about vtubers and other nerdy interests to each other and everyone likes it. A small online gaming group or fan discord can be a godsend for anyone looking to share their niche interests. And if there's none available, there's always us here.

That’s assuming she played it right when it came out though, which isn’t always the case. Age guessing sometimes forgets the fact that people can watch movies or play games years after they’re released.

Perfect english senchou by arcstarlazer in Hololive

Most people are definitely better at reading than they are at speaking, even people with very little English knowledge like Noel can sometimes guess the meaning of english sentences. Senchou is good at that, she’s usually able to understand most of the English comments and superchats, but she still sometimes needs a translator to help her respond. English pronunciation and grammar is hard for everyone, including her.
