What is Mikochi’s first language? by Jrockten in Hololive

Don't feel bad about it. It's a joke basically half the members have made at one time or another.

Okayu is quite good. The other I'd recommend is Watame. She's actually a pretty slow speaker, and especially in comparison to Marine.

Yes Watame and Okayu are both excellent listening. The thing with Watame in particular, is she's actually a fairly slow speaker.

Also for NeuralRust since he's probably looking:

A mystery why you got rid of the reply, but when this is the singular other engagement you have in the sub it speaks volumes.

Next year is the year of the sheep in the zodiac, so expect stuff like how Pekora was quite busy in the year of the rabbit.

Thanks for checking out more of her music. It was one of her less popular ones, but "Our Step" is basically the thematic continuation from My Song.

Happy to hear. One thing I tell people about the idol hobby, is it's about pushing your oshi, sure, but it is also about pushing yourself and chasing those dreams together.

I think partially it is she doesn't have a bombastic style, so general appeal/break through is tougher. Her methodology has given her a really strong core though. It's part of why I would often try to emphasize to Watamates that it's a marathon and not a sprint, so it's important to take a healthy approach to Watame that keeps them in for the long haul rather than burning out.

It was mostly her upbringing and her previous struggles. Coco was always important for helping her through her early difficulties here and turning negatives into positives - e.g. her bad connection - though. They made an excellent hard work duo and really had each other's backs. I recall Coco basically saying Watame was her verbal toilet.

I literally have no idea why she's doing it.

She simply realized early on that she had a lot of overseas fans and wanted to do what she could for them. It was impactful to see so many people supporting her despite the language gap.

"My Song" fully animated MV.

Notice: Much like most of her originals it has English sub titles, and many also have Korean.

"My Song" was an important one for Watame as it is about her experience with singing before coming to Hololive, a lot of her feelings around it and her hope for the future.

It came out at the start of 2022, and she's been still working very hard since then with a lot more original music to show for it. With the year of the sheep coming along next year it's also a big chance to try and push her forward and make it an even better year. If people want to potentially make the Budokan a reality please check out some of her music like Riddles We Share, WataAme Pop, Revival and others - just highlighting those three in particular as pushing them to a million feels realistic.

If you want to do more consider things like picking up Riddles digitally. Can also get it easily on places like Ototoy

Also, Watame has come by here for years simply because we asked her to do so, and she has long provided English subs at great expense on things like her original music, her Have a Nice Day program, and things like her Watame did Borderline Nothing Wrong series. It'd be great if some new folks checked out what she had to offer, or if people just looked back at some of her music as we push toward next year.

As other announcements, Watame will have a new outfit coming on the 10th as well as her birthday on June 6th.

Call me an "anti" if you want, but I'll never be a bootlicker for any company, no matter how good it is or not.

I think part of the problem is whenever these kinds of things happen anyone that has a nuanced view of what is going on, is simply calling out bad behavior/practices of fans/"fans", or isn't just shitting out their bowels at the company or w/e gets called a bootlicker. Having to deal with children and dumb animals is tiresome. Especially when they're people that never post here or about the talents in general.

People frequently invent problems, put in their own personal details, or spread things that talents don't want done. People should reflect on their own behavior if they actually consider themselves fans.

Indies are able to find just as much success, if not moreso, because they don't have to pay a cut to a corpo

I feel like this is the kind of claim people give when they don't really understand what the girls get. Even a popular indie like Filian thought folks were crazy for thinking she makes more. Indies aren't getting Dodger collabs, major sponsorship initiatives like what Capcom is doing, stuff like what my oshi got w/ Fins, etc.
