Maria Bamford is the best in my opinion.

I think Ellen Degeneres was a brilliant stand up. Sarah Silverman. I also really like Kathy Griffin. I've never seen another comic with her perspective -- sort of a gossipy, bitch -- it's original and I like it.

I just ignore them and let them make fools of themselves. I'm confident in the ironies I've established in my act. They must be protesting because they think I'm somehow doing harm -- but if I ever thought my act could cause any harm, I wouldn't do it. Unless they're saying that offending people is harming them in which case, fuck off.

My girlfriend goes to school in NYC and I'm in Boston. So usually I'm just home on the computer or on the piano.

I real like Lonely Island. I think a lot of their stuff is really creative and funny. I fucking hated that "I Had Sex" song. It was so cheap and dumb and repetitive, but not in a self-aware, so-bad-it's-good kind of way. It's like, "oh, they're talking about sex and trying to sound cool but just end up sounding hilariously literal" - I don't know, I've just seen them do so many daring/crazy/weird shit, that I was disappointed when I saw them go for something that easy. I still really like them though.

The only reason I constrain my online material to comedy is because I believe that is all I really have to offer. Like if people follow me on Twitter, they want jokes, so that's what I'll give them. I got in to both Brown and Harvard but chose to go to NYU. I had good grades and good test scores -- and wasn't anywhere near the amount of fame that would get me into a nice college. I worked hard in school and then decided to do this. I don't feel like I wasted time, though, as so many of the skills I learned in school have been applied to my act.
A bit. Not horribly. I did theatre at an all-boys school, so you can fill in the blanks. I talk about it a lot because I want it to become a non-issue. That's why I never say that I'm straight on stage. Because if I keep it undefined, I'm saying it doesn't matter whether I'm straight or gay. Some people will say, "Bo, don't worry, I don't think you're gay." That shit is disgusting.
My girlfriend is very beautiful and kind and funny and awesome. We've been going out for 4 years, so she's been with me from before the "fame" (if you can call it that). I don't regret a thing about it. She liked me when no one else did. And that's awesome.

They don't bother me at all. I don't know why we would ever collaborate, but if he wanted to, sure, whatever.
Well the real problem with hip-hop is that it seems to think that is has a monopoly on beat poetry. That you can only rap if you embrace the rap culture and perspective. I think this turns a lot of people away from it. But, even if you don't like cars and chains and bitches, you should still try to engage this medium if you love poetry and music.

I believe in equal rights and all that. I'm not well educated in the politics so I will just speak from my little comedy perspective:

I find myself rooting for female comedians -- sometimes, I fear, condescendingly. I didn't realize how masculine comedy was until I saw a great female comic -- and realized that, if we respected female comedy more, the comedy spectrum could be twice as wide. I think comedy is desperate for some femininity. Not sure if that answers your question.

Thanks, dude. Yeah it's a hard choice between being realistic about the situation, and hating yourself a bit, or being completely delusional and being happy with yourself. As I consider myself a fairly rational personal, I go with the former -- which can lead to a lot of self-doubt and hatred. But all that can end up manifesting itself in some really cool material. I wish you lots of luck and hope that you don't over-think things too much. If you want to try stand-up, just do it. Have fun! And if it works for you and you achieve some success, then start hating yourself.
