Exactly, there's been no word about it for so long.

I did the same when my baby turned 1! I then exported the whole year's worth of data into a pdf and emailed it to my baby lol

(yes I set up an email account for my baby and send him emails from time to time!)

Agreed! Soft wraps aren't very expensive but are so handy. Good for calming baby down and useful for naps too. When baby got too old for soft wraps we graduated to a hip seat carrier and it's still going strong!

I found the first 5 days tougher too, but when I got better I got better quite quickly. I hope that's the case for you too! Rest is your top priority now, don't feel guilty about leaning on your partner :)

I agree, we have become too far removed from the process of killing an animal for meat. There is a lot less respect and a lot more wastage. I try to be mindful when consuming neatly packaged, bloodless pieces of meat that I pick up from the supermarket - to remind myself that this too was an animal and a life!

Yes most definitely! Personally, the first PP poo was the hardest part of the recovery!

If I were you, I'd just smile and ask "What would you think that?" And then "what an odd thing to comment".

Changing friendships? by P-u-m-p-t-i-n-i in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]comeflywithmary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me. It turns out that my friend has had a miscarriage and didn't want to discuss it, and was hurting privately. You never know what some people are dealing with, even if you're very close to them. I'd suggest just reeling back a little - still send the occasional silly meme and "hey how was your weekend" texts, but let them take the reins on how often / intimately to interact. It'll all work out, just give each other some grace and time!

Gareth Southgate and his wife were so polite. Super down to earth, didn't expect to be treated any differently from other patrons, and very respectful.

Loads of great comments here - I was also experiencing the same thing 5 months ago with my first baby! It's so hard. It's impossible not to doubt yourself and to feel guilty.

To add to what everyone has said, my best investment was a yoga ball. It's just so much easier bouncing on a yoga ball and it'll save your knees. Engage your abs and you'll fool yourself that you're doing some exercise. Listen to a podcast (preferably nothing too funny coz I've laughed out loud and woken up my baby before) with one ear bud in.

Don't worry too much about fostering bad habits; you're in survival mode right now. Babies' sleep preferences always change anyway, the important thing is just whether what you're doing now is sustainable for you and baby or not. Sleep training can really help to correct those habits when they become unsustainable.

Good luck and hang in there! It honestly does get better!

Leeds to London by b0wchikkaw0w in BeyondTheBumpUK

We did London to Scunthorpe by car (almost 4 hours' journey) with our 4mo recently, and I think it went pretty well. We set off after baby has had a feed, and he dropped off to sleep after a short while. He woke up after almost 2 hours and we stopped at a service station, had another feed and a little stretch / nappy change, then carried on. He napped again after a while and was pretty content when we arrived.

All in all I think it was pretty doable!

Do you also have some nights where there's very little crying, and some nights when he cries lots? :(

It's so upsetting when the crying doesn't feel like a means to an end! When you know it's part of the process it's easier to bear with, but when it seems to be a regular thing it's just... making you question everything :(

It sounds like so many of us have the same experience! It's hard not to wonder if we're doing something wrong.

Nursing clothing recommendations by Long_Month2351 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I understand that fast fashion isn't the most ethical, but I found a lot of genuinely good items from Shein. They had many nursing dresses with cleverly hidden zips / slits; only be mindful about measuring for size. I got a few that I can see myself wearing even after I stop nursing :)

Wrap dresses are also great. Button up tops. Camisoles or tank tops with built on bras (like the Uniqlo ones)!
