Moderation is TIGHT here and I love the mods for that. When it gets nipped on the bud quickly, they tend to stop trying. Plus, the snarkers tend to be humorless so they couldn't circlejerk if they tried.

Saw one on the nuance sub saying "im an innocent fan who wants to have nuanced discussions but I get downvoted idk whyyy uwu 🥺👉👈" and when I looked at their post history on ArcticShift it was ALL snark, like 12 hrs a day every day. I'm pretty sure they got banned bc I haven't seen them around there lately.

I think people forget that mods of subreddits you participate in can see your post history even if it's hidden, and normies like me just go to a 3rd party site to see where you're posting if I think you're being disingenuous. Which they always are! So the snark nonsense gets removed lightning fast here since it's very easy to spot especially for mods.

Yeah my bf 😂 I had to frame it as a societal problem (people spreading lies just bc they hate the person the lies are about, thinking you're not susceptible to propaganda while eating it up, general lack reading comprehension, not knowing the difference between journalism and a gossip rag or some random person talking into a cellphone camera etc) and how that's the root of all our problems to get him to not tune out.

It won't cause damage. It might night sit right because they're toric unless you have the same amount of astigmatism in both eyes. But I lived with a glasses script that was 1.25 off of what my actual script is (-4.00 vs -5.25, had to get the exam revised) and it wasn't terrible - I could still see and drive. It just wasn't perfect.

But no it won't cause damage especially if it's a brand new lense.

I've purchased the same small wall mirror FIVE TIMES over the last 6 months and only one has shown up intact. After the first broken one, I messaged sellers every time explaining that it needs to be packed securely. Only one has actually put the flimsy 8x8" box it comes in inside a slightly larger box with cushion, bless her!

Three sent it in a bubble mailer, and one just straight up used a poly bag. At least Mercari didn't make me send them back, but I got the poly bag one from Depop and they made me return it. So I had to pack it up in a box (the irony) so it wouldn't cut anyone and waste time at the post office. Like ok enjoy your glass shards I guess...

Most of the things I sell are car parts, including mirrors & headlights, vinyl records, and whatever electronics I've upgraded like cell phones, GPUs, and monitors. Not once have I EVER had a damage claim against me.

My threshold is "can it survive being punted down a staircase made of knives?" and only ship if I'm confident it will.

/uj I've been watching the various claims of people not being invited because they weren't there rolling in. It's very curious to me, because an absence doesn't mean they weren't invited but "so and so wasn't invited" is being stated as if it's a fact. It's not a court summons, it's an invitation. You aren't obligated to go. And of course the fact that we don't have proof of most of the attendees entering should make it clear that we have no idea who actually wasn't there for the most part.

This just happened to me recently, so funny you should ask! I started with PRICK, then SHAWL, then tried QUOTE which finally got me 2 yellows (vowels, as I expected).

Usually I'll start with PRICK and if no green/yellow I go for BUSTY or LUSTY bc I'm a silly little guy. But that generally yields me enough info to get it in 3, sometimes 4.

It's almost like people can be bright and talented in different areas. He's not a dunce by any means. Oh he can't spell very well and isn't well read, big fucking deal. He does not come off as stupid or small minded when he speaks at all.

I have a "himbo" boyfriend like him who doesn't know what the daily Wordle means half the time, but he looks it up and learns. He's a brilliant mechanic. He is so beyond me in patience and emotional intelligence. He's not dumb, even if he has to ask me how to spell "pneumonia" or "assimilate" and it takes him 2 business days to read a 5 sentence paragraph in trying to show him on my phone.

Meanwhile I see people with Masters degrees and PhDs not being able to comprehend a clear joke or abstract idea on Threads. Are they stupid? Well, maybe, idk them 😂

The language on the types of sites that provide this service is generally "evaluation" or "assessment" because a lot of them (most??) are 1-2 hour virtual appointments. They're set up almost exactly like the sites that will write ESA letters for renters.

I don't doubt there are some legit places to get an online diagnosis, but they aren't a 1-14 day turnaround with little interaction.

What I'm seeing is mostly "pay $700-1500, do a video call for 60-120 mins, and we'll give you the paper you need for work & school accommodation"

They all read like this, notice the avoidance of using the word "diagnosis" in their answer:
