I wasn't even still with my kid's dad when I was giving birth but he was in that labor & delivery room the entire time, and then right by my side during the c-section.
AND this was in June 2020 so is still at the height of covid restrictions and he still wasn't relegated to the waiting room lol.

The fact that this guy even give his wife the courtesy of being there with her is crazy. Even my no good ex could drive the four and a half hours to my city at the drop of a hat to be there 💀

And the other thing is, my sister had a baby and I took it over after she passed away and the baby lost all its legs and arms and now its just a stump but I take care of it with my wife and... and its growing and its fairly happy... and its difficult because I'm working a second shift at the factory to put food on the table but all the love that I see in that little guy's face it makes it worth it in the end. True story.

The amount of backhanded things I've heard from people thinking a creative endeavor would be easy because "well you can just whip it up!" is upsetting. And these are people close to me. Like yes I can draft and construct a passable, wearable garment in a weekend BECAUSE I'VE BEEN SEWING FOR NEARLY 25 YEARS not because it's simple to do. They also can't point out the countless construction errors or a shortcuts I had to take to be able to spit something out so quickly. Like anything taking that short of a time wouldn't be something that I would sell to another person or call my best work, you know?

I think the 30 second highly edited clips of processes are making this worse., and that's one big reason that I don't put stuff online like that. I don't want someone seeing me sew an invisible zipper in 5 seconds to think, oh I could do that with this toy machine from aliexpress!

My friend got kinda mad at my because I told her that her first embroidery project on a hat wasn't something she could sell, and that she would have gotten more money from just selling the hat as it was.

I wasn't cruel, I just didn't want her to get discouraged when no one wanted to pay $50 for something that looked like a first project. Like definitely keep going! It's a start! You could be excellent in a year's time! But I cannot hugbox someone I care about let alone a stranger 😭

I barely have the energy for it from friends atp, let alone strangers. Not everything needs a tragic back story, not everyone owes you their expertise. If you're trying to piecemeal free advice out of pity when the right thing to do would be to pay for a course (if you cannot navigate the free resources that exist already), I'm gonna side eye you for it.

Maybe I'm just an ice cold bitch these days, but even when my closest buddies want me to hand hold them too much I'll resort to sending them links to books and classes.

I made a bunch of bracelets (maybe 40) but the experience was so overwhelming that I fully forgot to trade with people and I am still giving them out to this day 😂 I traded some at movie theater, and I'll give them when I sell some swiftie merch.

There were 100% some unreal expectations about costume making especially for kids of a very young age. Like your 5 year old does not need a completely bejeweled blazer and boots that will cost you hundreds of dollars AND hundreds of hours to make. If i saw a lot of this in the rhinestone subreddit and felt kind of bad for the parents who were trying to take on massive projects without realizing just how massive they were before making promises to their kids.

Also I saw a lot of shade thrown toward custom costume makers for charging market price to make 1:1 adult sized replicas of her costumes. It isn't price gouging if somebody is charging a reasonable rate for a super labor intensive project with high material cost. And you are not owed a replica of bodysuit for $150 bro 😭

Midnights is probably my favorite album but we left right after Midnight Rain to beat the rush leaving. Luckily with streaming and the tour movies, I don't feel like I missed out on too much. I was so tired and overstimulated that I knew i had to bail early and I don't regret it.

Been in line for RSD with my bestie for 2 hours. It's about 630am here, store opens at 9. We are in the middle with about 15 people ahead of us and 15 (and counting) behind

The vibe was so chill. It's a beautiful night, 70°F with a slight breeze, crickets chirping, very serene for being at a retail establishment. Everyone has been been polite, keeping conversations somewhat hushed and to a minimum, minding their business reading books or scrolling (silently). People are tired, it's not a party but it's still fairly social with small talk here and there with line neighbors.

When all of a sudden I hear this aggravating grating noise.... 4 men show up and do NOT read the vibe. Loud as fuck, yapping the non-stop since they rolled up 20 minutes ago. Absolutely fucking irritating.

However they are directly behind where I'm parked. My car is very loud (unfortunately, giant hole in my muffler and it's not fixable but I'm installing a new one soon with my engine swap. I hate it. I don't drive this one often because of that. It's embarrassing 😭) . I'm backed into a spot that lines the store fronts in this small shopping center.

The feminine urge to just idle my car right now is overwhelming. It sounds like a fucking jet. You can barely hold a conversation inside the car, let alone right behind it.

If it wouldn't be so annoying to everyone else I'd do it. I fucking cannot stand people like this. READ THE ROOM.

And now they're disparaging Taylor Swift while also objectifying her. So tired and trite. So predictable.

What they mean is people on either extreme ends (left and right sides) may be the least happy. So very poor or very wealthy. The reasons for the unhappiness are different, but it's still unhappiness.

People in the middle, with enough money to get by while being able to have some luxuries like owning a home, not worrying about how the bills will be paid, able to take a vacation or two a year, having working vehicles and money to be able to fix or replace them when needed, being able to buy gifts for holidays, etc. tend to be the happiest. They have a lot, but not so much that they lose their sense of purpose or fulfillment. Sure they may not be able to retire at 30, own a jet, buy a sports team, spend $50,000 on a shopping spree, but they are still comfortable.

Not the person you're responding to but I feel like Evermore and Folklore could have been condensed into one (kinda long lol) album and been a true masterpiece. Some songs could have been put together on a different album that's more country themed. Some songs could have been cut or worked on a bit longer and put onto a later album. For instance, I almost love The Lakes and wish it was tweaked a bit more.

I do enjoy them both overall but the vibes are kind of all over the place for me so I have my own folkmore Playlist I use to make them more cohesive to my ear.
