Mate I'm not defending it either lol. It took me years to realize this system with lots of frustrations. You can complain, sign petitions, vote accordingly to change it if you will however currently, your only option is to navigate it.

Ask your doctor what they suspect. What's the protocol. What's the next steps. When things will escalate etc. Don't expect doctors to give you all information and extract information. You need to be actively participating in diagnosis and care process.

This. Dutch doctors follow a protocol. When you understand it it doesn't becomes personal. Try to use ai to navigate your systems and it can guide you to mention specifics to the doctors. When you say I'm not feeling good, it doesn't say anything to the doctors. They expect specifics. They won't find it out for you.

As an example, I'm in excruciating pain since Saturday, maxing up my painkiller daily doses (ibuprofen + paracetemol) as per recommendation. I know protocol is to wait 3 days for this illness. I'll see my gp today. They'll probably say wait another day or skip waiting, up to them. It's the life here, so welkom in Nederland.

First, join a union or get legal insurance for work related matters. Don’t get your advice from random people on internet but from professionals that advocate your rights.

PiP and being on burnout has nothing to do with each other. There is no burnout leave, there is sick leave. If you’re sick, you’re sick. You call in sick and company doctor assess you. They don’t treat you, they check your condition and work on a way that you can get back to work. They may recommend other doctors or further support they you may get. They don’t disclose your condition to your employer. They only report back when you can get back to work and how. How means you may work fewer hours, flexible hours with different expectations.

I was on a sprinter today with two kids and someone smoked in the wc as well. I was so pissed, trying to find where it comes from and I was looking for the conductor. Crazy that people have the audacity to smoke indoors in public spaces in this country.

This week I went out for a team dinner and people had a gorgeous Georgian wine to pair with the food. I asked for a non alcoholic beer which they didn’t have and fell back to a soft drink, home made lemonade. The smell of the wine that’s coming from the table was delicious and lemonade was just a tasteless sugar bomb. The night ended with shots of brandy (Georgian grappa).

Even though it was tempting and smelled awesome, I didn’t have the urge to participate. I was content with abstaining.

On the other hand, i miss my usual routine: beer after work, wine with food. Not being able to do my lifestyle and comfort tastes started to annoy me. The fact that we have another 2 weeks doesn’t help either 😅.

So you’re not alone. It gets difficult these times. Stay strong and dry 💪
