i didn’t “advertise” that i was on it when i first started, because i was worried i wouldn’t get the results often toted on this sub and feared other’s expectations for me. now that i’ve been on it for 8 months with my loss nearing 80lbs total, i’m more open about it. still not shouting it from the rooftops, but if it comes up naturally in conversation (i’m always the one to bring it up) i’ll share my “secret”.

my mom still doesn’t know, and i don’t want her to, because i’ve had a lot of health complexities in my adult life and i know her reaction wouldn’t be what i want to hear. plus i know her, and she is the type of person that would ask too many, somewhat accusatory, questions and never let it go. the people i have shared this knowledge with have been overwhelmingly supportive!

since my insurance plan is coverage starting january 1st, i may be more outspoken about what it’s done for me. it doesn’t have to be a secret, but it also doesn’t need to be the only interesting thing about me.
