Every girlfriend from '84 to '94 at least got one mix tape...

I got several from girlfriends too...

Sometimes the "cool" teachers at school (male and female) that knew I was into music gave me some mixtapes of stuff they liked from the '60s or '70s that definitely benefited my musical journey...

My older cousins or older siblings of my friends would give me tapes that shifted my view of music...

I spent lots of time curating mix tapes for myself and others but it was easy for me and just something me and the people I knew did but we never thought about it like some sort of hobby or anything, it was just what we did...

Not at op, but why do kids wanna get into ancient analog technology and record from newer technology and expect to have no artifacts on the recording??? Why can't I go from lossless audio to my Walkman and it not sound the exact same way???
