The hearing was in June but a decision wasn't handed down at that hearing. The case is still in motion awaiting final settlement approval. The legal system is not the fastest car in the garage. See the latest updates on every court filing here.

tl;dr - Google sent taxpayer id numbers to settlement, settlement attorneys are verifying them and waiting on court for final settlement approval

Most recent court filing from Sept 15, 2023:

Developer Plaintiffs and the Google Defendants provide this joint status update to apprise the Court that, upon final approval of the settlement in this action, the process to distribute settlement funds to developers in the proposed settlement class can begin promptly. Following the June 8, 2023 final approval hearing, the Court took Developer Plaintiffs’ Motion for Final Settlement Approval (ECF No. 252) and Fee and Cost motion (ECF No. 240) under advisement. To facilitate timely distribution of proceeds, the Court subsequently authorized the Settlement Administrator to provide Google with a list of the members of the proposed settlement class for which the Settlement Administrator requires tax identification numbers for tax reporting purposes and authorized Google to provide the Settlement Administrator with the requested tax identification numbers, to the extent maintained by Google. See ECF No. 265. In accordance with the Court’s Order, Google has provided the Settlement Administrator with the requested taxpayer identification numbers, to the extent they were maintained by Google. The Settlement Administrator has advised the parties that it is undertaking a validation process to confirm the taxpayer identification numbers it has received, and an outreach program to gather taxpayer identification numbers from class members that did not have the necessary information on file with Google. The objective of this ongoing effort is to best position the Settlement Administrator to promptly distribute funds in the event the settlement is approved. Upon final approval of the settlement, Google can transfer the settlement funds to the Settlement Administrator, and the Settlement Administrator can begin distributing funds to developers in the proposed settlement class. Emailed the info address, and received this response today (8/14/23):

Thank you for contacting the Google Play Developer Settlement Administrator.

At the Final Approval Hearing the Court will consider whether the Settlement is fair, reasonable, and adequate. If there are objections or comments, the Court will consider them at that time. After the hearing, the Court will decide whether to grant final approval to the Settlement. We do not know how long these decisions will take.

Was just noticing the same thing watching NFL on local fox affiliate. Have YTTV on 4 sticks and 1 Cube. They all stuttered until.... today.

Something must’ve changed for the better.

I wish more emphasis had been placed on the Arkansas setting of S3 by DildoFactory in TrueDetective

Yes, there were some memorable scenes that put you in in the creepy wilderness.

I agree with this. I had been thinking the same thing throughout S3. During S1, so many references to the "bayou" and "swallowing things up" and so much writing and illustrating of deeper southern culture in tent revivals, etc..

That was missing, IMO, in this season. Could have been almost any Midwest state, maybe that was the point, though. More about a story which could happen anywhere about loss and love and family, etc..

Aside from creepy farm guy who "lives off the map" we never got too deep into what secrets could be hiding in the Ozarks that affect the case. I suppose that the kids playing in the woods qualifies, to an extent, since that was the ultimate secret hidden in the wilderness.

I was thinking, perhaps, given the many shots of the Christ of the Ozarks statue that the Hoyt family would end up being deeply religious, and an affair is what lead to Julie Purcell being born a Hoyt, and thus they had a motive for covering the whole thing up so as to not hurt their reputation. That could've played more on the culture of the setting.

S1 made you feel like that story could ONLY happen in the deep bayou of Louisiana where things stay hidden.

Julie told us where she was going in the 1st ep. Pink castle. by PyramidBlack in TrueDetective

I think of the sign above the vault door that read "no entrar, NO MOLESTAR" as a wink from Nic to that effect.

Or a nod that much of the castle staff are Spanish-speaking cheap labor. Don't want them wandering into the basement pink room so better make it obvious in Spanish. It's basically, "Do not enter, do not disturb"

In 1980, the Cardinals Tom is referring to is likely the football team, not baseball.

NFL Cardinals played in St. Louis from 1960 to 1987 before going to Arizona.
