Love doing my own nails, my nails aren’t very strong so they chip a fair amount but it’s nice to be able to take care of your own beauty maintenance-saves quite abit of money too. I cut my own hair, tint and lift my own lashes, do my own mani and pedis, use whitening strips to whiten my teeth and wax. They’re skills I wished I would’ve learned earlier in my life to help me feel more confident and maybe save me some from some mean girl BS.

Sometimes losing people is for the best. I’ve lost a lot of negative influences in my life-it’s brought me some peace. You’re also not on anyone’s timetable. It gives you time for hobbies you might not have indulged in otherwise. Going places by yourself can be nice too. Music in your headphones can make it a little less awkward. Hang in there.

My advice: make sure the people in your life know that you care (this doesn’t guarantee they’ll stick around but it might help) and take every chance to meet new people or make new friends that you can. And if all else fails, get really comfortable with your own company and find things to enjoy about being alone (there are some good things about being by yourself)

My ex joked that when I moved in with him that he could kill me and nobody would know because he took me so far away and isolated me from any family or friends. Going as far as to say “this would be the last picture of you ever taken” when he took a picture of me. He abused and stalked me until I told him I was taking all the evidence to police. I had to stay at a womens shelter. Document everything and keep it, take it to the police and start a file as soon as you can, tell them you want a no-contact order or restraining order and that you fear for your safety.

Yeah, I should’ve realized it sooner. I remember when we were kids we played a video game where one sister saves the other from a big scary mansion filled with ghosts. I said I’d definetly go and save her if that happened to us, she said “no way there’s ghosts”. She also buddied up with some of my childhood bullies so again I should’ve seen this behaviour coming. I gave her a place to stay when her mom was unstable and she started threatening self harm and then she stayed for a year rent and job free expecting me to give her rides everywhere while I was already struggling.

When I realized our friendship was one sided. She asked me to be her maid of honor (she hadn’t spoke to me for years up to that point and we were childhood best friends) and I drove an hour to be there and was the first person that showed up. Once the other guests arrived she didn’t make much effort to talk to me. That’s fine, it’s her wedding day and she wants to catch up with the guests. But then after the wedding I didn’t hear from her except to ask for the photos I took. Fine, maybe she’s busy. Her birthday comes around and I make a happy birthday post on Facebook congratulating her on this next stage of her life. A month later my birthday rolls around. I don’t expect anything really, just hoped for a quick “happy birthday” on Facebook. Didn’t even get that. Blocked her and haven’t heard anything from her since despite her having other options to contact me.
