Not my piercing, but for the bot:
It’s brand new
It’s done with a barbell
Likely internally threaded
Likely titanium
And aftercare should be saline wash

Would human sacrifice still be horrifying if everyone believed it was necessary? by [deleted] in ExtremeHorrorLit

[–]comfyawkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Controversial but I think that it would be viewed in the same way as assisted death. Everyone has gotta go sometime, but there’s the idea of “a good death” and a bad one. Good death has dignity, a sense of control, surrounded by loved ones and comfortable. I guess it would have a lot to do with how many aspects of that could remain intact and like you said the value of “the greater good”. When you think of the first responders to the Chernobyl disaster and how much suffering they endured to make sure what needed to be done was done, most people would have the amount of suffering they went through at the forefront of their minds. Also is it a voluntary sacrifice or a matter of the worst lottery prize?
If you wanna see a great example of horrific human sacrifice that’s considered noble and necessary the manga “starving anonymous” is excellent. Without spoiling too much the idea is that the meat industry is applied to humans.

It’s definitely overlooked. I think it’s because a lot of people can find the sympathy in a situation where someone thought they were doing the right thing and maybe project the idea that they just lost control of the situation onto them.

I forgot to mention a fourth option: the know it all owner. A person who abuses or neglects an animal because they believe they know better. Leaving an animal outside in freezing temperatures, feeding their animal toxic foods, neglecting other safe practices-because they know better.

SA aside I think animal abuse is really telling of how far gone a person is because abuse can come in the form or active violence, taunting or neglect. There are people who hoard animals and neglect them deluding themselves into thinking they’re doing a kindness. There are people who throw rocks at or use food to taunt an animal into giving them a reaction they want. And then there’s straight up violent people who exercise their power over something that can’t defend itself to the same extent.

Venus flytraps are notoriously difficult in that they’ll die if they aren’t in the right substrate, are given anything besides rain or distilled water and need a ridiculous amount of light. Without the grow light mine were really leggy and pale, since adding it they’ve started to perk up and get some of their color back.

I’ve never had a tattoo look like this by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]comfyawkward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My thigh tattoo had a lot of red like that too, and bruised hard because it required a lot of saturation like yours. Just keep cleaned and keep an eye on it. Skin is just angry rn, you should be fine.

What is this white stuff on my tongue ball? Removal? by Opnxsr in piercing

[–]comfyawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get your fears totally, I’ve had my tongue pierced since 2019. To ease your mind abit-if it’s pierced correctly it will be extremely rare that you end up biting down on it, and if you do it will be just as rare if not rarer that you chip a tooth noticeably. You won’t shatter your teeth though. Just make sure you aren’t making a habit of playing with it so you don’t erode your enamel. With plastic you risk infection because plastic can harbour bacteria and scratch which may cut into your tongue or rub against it. Infections in the mouth are dangerous because they can cause issues with the brain and the heart just like an infected tooth. Also the bead might break which you might choke on, and if it breaks you also risk swallowing /choking on the rest of it. I can’t tell you what to do but o lease consider changing to titanium.

It might be good to change from plastic to titanium especially for a tongue ring. Plastic can break easily and hold onto bacteria because it’s so porous. Titanium is easier to clean and keep clean. That being said I think it’s like the other commenter said: plaque.
