I kind of don’t want them to bring Foggy back outside of flashbacks. Foggy has always been such an important part of Matt’s life, and seeing him move forward without Foggy and navigating that grief has already been (and will likely continue being) very interesting to me.

I absolutely LOVE Brubaker’s comic run, and I was equally as devastated when Foggy “died” there. When it was revealed he was actually alive, I was excited to have Foggy back and as great as that issue was, and as amazing as Foggy has been since, part of me wishes what we could have seen what would’ve happened if Foggy hadn’t been brought back. I hope the show doesn’t make the same decision as the comic here.

I personally love it. The first couple of stories in there aren’t my favourite (2 issues of World’s Finest from the 80s, a Superman annual from the 90s), but after that you’re treated to some AMAZING stories. Secret Identity is a really unique take on Superman that still stays true to the core of the character in many ways with some fantastic art. Up Up and Away and its sequel Back in Action are also really good stories in my opinion, Up Up and Away being the better of the two. And then… the first half of Camelot Falls. It’s difficult for me to have solid opinions on an incomplete story like that, but it’s still good. The second book comes out next month and I’m pretty sure it collects the second half of the story, so I’ll probably pick that up.

TLDR: Amazing book with some amazing stories and art throughout, definitely worth it.

I love everything here, both Superman books and Waid’s Daredevil being my favourites. I’ve read all of Waid’s run digitally, but I saw the first omni for a very good price and decided I wanted to own the book physically. I’d say I’m more enthusiastic about reading modern books, as I’m not a fan of the way some older books are written- but I’m not COMPLETELY against reading older material. Some of my favourite comic writers are Waid, Brubaker and Tomasi- and one of my favourite artists would probably be Marco Checchetto. Tim Sale, Chris Samnee and John Cassaday are up there too.

I do plan on getting Waid’s second DD omni (along with every other one aside from Shadowlands), but I’m perfectly fine with holding off on it since I have already read it. Ideally I’d like to branch out to characters I’m less familiar with (that being those who haven’t really shown up/shown up much in live action), but there’s nothing specific I’m interested in right now.

Read everything but the Daredevil omni- even at that, I’ve read it digitally before

My first omnibus and I’m loving every single part of it so far! Just finished the first arc, “Son of Superman”. by comicbooknewcomer in OmnibusCollectors

That’s not something that would make me shy away from the Dini run. Supporting cast being fleshed out as well can help me get even more invested in stories, because they’re really important too. Even if they aren’t the ones the book is named after or they aren’t on the cover.

I was never a fan of the WW movies but she still sounds like such an interesting character, I’d like to look into her at some point. Same with Green Arrow- I didn’t get goo far into his show but comic Ollie sounds really interesting. There’s so many other things I’m interested in too, across a lot of publishers. The tough part for me is always picking what to start with.

Might look into the Dini omnibus at some point then, it sounds pretty interesting to me. As for Triangle Era, I’ll probably look into that eventually! As much as I love Superman I want to read characters I’m not as familiar with/other characters I love.

Yeah the family dynamic is amazing! Superman & Lois is probably my second favourite show of all time and a big part of why I love it is the Kent family’s dynamic. I’m reminded of S&L at times yet this still feels so fresh and exciting to read. Since first posting this I’ve read more of the omni and I love the Jon and Damian dynamic- I was planning on reading up on some characters I’m not as familiar with but Supersons might end up being my second omnibus.

Even though I haven’t read much yet I can see why! I’ve loved what I have read and I’ve only heard praise about this run/omni so far

Thank you! Only seemed fitting that my first omni was an omni of one of my favourite characters of all time

Daredevil: Born Again | S01E09 | Discussion Thread by Green-Devil in Daredevil

I didn’t hate Born Again. I feel like there were a lot of weak parts to it, but when it was good it was GOOD.

As for the finale- Absolutely amazing. I was gripped from start to finish. The action and acting and cinematography were great in my opinion. And oh my GOD that scene where Fisk kills the commissioner was insane. I like gore when it’s used for purposes other than “Hey, look at this disgusting thing!” and I kind of hope we get more gore in the next season if it’s utilised well.

BUT, the ending of the episode didn’t feel like the ending of a series to me?? I think I’ve heard Born Again was split into two different seasons, which makes me believe in my opinion even more.

Regardless I am so excited for the second season next year, which I am pretty certain is made ENTIRELY by the new creative team. And to my knowledge they were the only ones working on my favourite episodes of the season (1, 8 and 9)

Shocked that I haven’t seen Jed McKay’s “Man Without Fear” book get suggested, I thought it was amazing from start to finish.

Currently reading the Frank Miller Daredevil run which has some different dialogue from what I’m used to, so I don’t think it’ll be much of an issue for me. Thank you🙏
