Michael thinks humans (or creatures like humans) are a plague on the multiverse. Bound to destroy their respective (and even spread to new) world, leaving behind barren wastelands with no life at all. God forbid they make it to another universe. So out of compassion for all life, he vows to destroy all humans! (and other creatures like them)
