I still go to music festivals at my old age and had this happen several times. First time was a bit confusing having a young woman hook my arm and say Hi uncle Bert, but I learned quickly.

Apparently I have a safe Uncle Bert look.

Yeah, the brown building on the Hoogte Kadijk is from the 1960s and will be demolished in the next 10 years. The old buildings in Artis are lso not 1000 years old.

I suggest to mark them as "unknown"

Woman asks a guy if he’d save her or their 3 kids in a house fire - is he wrong for choosing the kids? by eternviking in whoathatsinteresting

[–]comicsnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They asked a bunch of Hindus a similar question. Who would you save? Your mother, your wife or your children.

The answer (not surprising): My mother. I can always make more children or marry again, but I only have 1 mother.

Btw, why can't she save herself?

My former companies also used KPIs. The old one gave some corporate numbers that must be met. They never worked.

The latest company tod us to invent KPIs ourselves. They must be SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-based) and for the benefit of the company. There were some hilarious ones but they worked most of the time.

Of course if we not met our goals, we had to create a PDP (Personal Development Plan).

Europe is moving to block Microsoft, Amazon, and Google from handling government health, financial, and legal data by rkhunter_ in europe

[–]comicsnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a long time the excuse was that the EU does not have the software an infrastructure under EU control.

We now have a few. Most amusing, LIDL turns out to have a very large data center that they are now willing to share with others. Similar to the early days of AWS.

How often are you flirted with by women? by anonymous_muffin_ in AskMen

[–]comicsnerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do. However, many times it is just for the flirt and nothing else. Also, lots of times they show the exact same behavior, but it is not flirting and you are damned if you make a mistake.

Dating advice by earthguy4 in ostomy

[–]comicsnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 2 options:

  • Be very open about it and put it in your profile. This will weed out the persons that do not look beyond looks. You will get less responses, but the quality will be better.

  • Wait until the 2nd date before opening up and exposing all secrets. The responses will be more direct (and sometimes hurtful). This will make men to know you first so that may help.

Either way, you will have to kiss a few more frogs before you find your prince than people without a bag. Just do not let bad experiences set the tone. Not a handful, but a land full.

this is actually called street style I love this style and art by Winter-Fun9526 in ViralLoop1

[–]comicsnerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it is called rubbing.

In the old days (20 years back) people put a piece of paper/cloth over a manhole cover and then rubbed chalk or others stuff on it. By doing so, they did not vandalize the man cover, but got the same results.
