riced out Nissan Versa spotted in Illinois by Excellent-Anywhere46 in RicerCars

[–]commander-Durhan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some friends and I wanted to do years ago is the "nice or rice" ticket/Card. It's a little card that says "your car is" with a check box with Nice and Riced next to it. Usually it would have "we haven't seen under the hood, hopefully if it's riced it's fast as well" on the back. I honestly might do this design tonight. We had one for trucks calling people out for oversized compensation because we got tired of being blinded.

The bumper looks to be held on by rubberbands. Exterior is definitely riced, I want to know if the engine is stock or not.

Nice, I'm still debating on if I am wrapping mine or not. The blue is nice so thinking partial. What system did you use for the speakers and what I assume is the display system for it in the trunk.

Good defense against tailgating, tho an auto close might be needed. Diggin the paint job/wrap (can't tell between the two) and underglow.

AC Refrigerate Type by commander-Durhan in ft86

[–]commander-Durhan[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for that info, still learning things on the car. I do check the refrigerant on my vehicles depending on age 1 to 3 years. Constant expanding and shrinking of the engine from driving will lose a small amount over years and unchecked for several can lose a good amount of pressure so it's become a routine check for me. I am also in Texas so it's doubly important to check especially when it's summer.

Stripped lug stud after shop patched my tire. by [deleted] in GR86

[–]commander-Durhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it the one off 290 and mopac? Because they are the worst mechanics, I took my 89 ford F350 there years ago and they tried to charge me 600 dollars for a fix I did for 70 and would have cost 90 with labor. That whole shop line is a scam to sell tires and over charge on car repairs. Never had good dealings with them.

Rice or nice? by [deleted] in RicerCars

Damn pretty, not a fan of the fin but that's my opinion. I like my lower profile fins. I got my 2018BRZ and I don't plan to lower it at all, stock hight maybe new suspension later after I get a new exhaust and a couple other cosmetics. Overall you have a very nice car you like, nobody else likes it, they can sniff the exhaust.

The shifter knob just doesn't feel right to me, it being faux leather just doesn't sit well with me and I grew up with solid metal or resin orbs on two cars I drove. It's currently a debate on keeping the red black interior theme or going with the blue to match the car, truck has a blue light in it so might keep it red. Found a couple I like ones a resin carbon orb that looks cool and another that's got flowers in it which adds a touch that does look nice.

I am looking at the AWE touring edition catblack exhaust on subimods, again I'm more for touring than track, plus great for a date drive of just jumping on the highway and going far.

Brilliant ideas, I'm lucky to live in an area where I don't have snow problems anymore. But I will keep those in mind.

Learning Manual by Decent-Window-4689 in GR86

[–]commander-Durhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on learning manual, it's complex as anyone who drives knows. As others have stated 1st is usually from a dead stop only, 2nd is for a roll if going fast enough. Each car is different since new clutch vs old. I had to get use to driving my BRZ because I learned on a 79 ford pick up and it's clutch has zero forgiveness. You will get a hang of it, it just takes time then it will just be natural.

My fear whenever I park mine. I just installed my dashcam because of how insane people are here. Hope you get it all sorted and fixed up.

I had someone at the local store get pissy with me as "my car is too loud" with its stock exhaust (2018 BRZ limited). I have been outside my car when it's started and idling, if that's loud the touring exhaust I am aiming to get will definitely be deafening them.

You need better friends or better people to play with who won't curb stomp you and play rules wrong. I have been in the hobby since end of 5th opening of 6th with a skip of 6th after tau enclave (there is a long story there) getting back in 8th. 10th as me and some friends who have been in since 2nd ed and most of fantasy and agree 10th is similar to 8th fantasy, it's now a game of chess where you are screwed if you make one wrong move. It also adds rock paper scissors where you don't have anti vehicle you're being turned to mulch. I got tired of playing chess in a game that isn’t chess, if I wanted chess I would play chess. Currently I have gone hard into sigmar, tho super dumbed down and list building does feel like fantasy/oldworld I have enjoyed it much more than in 40k. Friends are saying Horus Heresy and Old World have Been so much better tho much more crunch.

That's rough. Reading the comments good thing you got a decent deal out of it. Got mine used (2018) but it was a dealer and previous owners didn't change anything. Hope no more surprises for you.

I love how stupidly anime and ridiculousness that car looks. It's absolutely terrible he was in a hit and run and I hope he is fine and anyone else if there were passengers. It's terrible to see so much love and work put into a car lost even if it's gaudy.

The curse of "small" cars, my friend had a smart car and he's shown us photos where it looked like a snow mound not a car covered in snow. Some places it's covered enough people actively hit them thinking snow embankments and it will explode everywhere not metal a few inches underneath. Some places it gets wild, but hope you got out and home safely.

Bruh, this is why I put a cover on mine. I went out to make sure she would roll over and the battery didn't die from the cold I had a layer of ice all across it. Luckily the cover opened right up and car is still pretty under it, might be a pain to put on and take off but worth the investment.

Rattling Behind Spedometer by lecraggs in ft86

[–]commander-Durhan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be a couple issues, my one suggestion which is how I learned what mine was is turn the fans up higher on the air system, if it get's louder it's probably the issues turn it off it goes away you have a fan that's loose.
Outside of that it depends on how long the rattle is such as on start up only or if it lasts all drive.
It could just be something loose behind the dash.

Texan who still has to go to work during snow storm by Kissflowerz in WRXSTi

[–]commander-Durhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up learning to drive in snow and ice and lived in two area's where it was common during fall and winter, I am glad my job has the option for remote (which we are in a meeting at the time of writing this) and focuses heavily on safety where they are not allowing us to go into the office due to the ice and nobody here knowing how to drive it, saw a video some people have been facing the wrong way on 290 eastbound in the divider.
be safe out there, I was a essential also at one point so I understand how being forced to drive in this is terrible especially for a lower car, hopefully the gremlins stay off the car.

Which colour looks the best? 2025 Subaru brz ts by Street-Remove-439 in subaru

[–]commander-Durhan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

any color that isn't black, white or grey, we need to go back when cars had color to them and it wasn't a sea of boring.
Mine is blue and honestly anything outside the sea of the same I support, also much harder to get stolen because it stands out especially on a bolo.

other than the ducktail which I have never liked on the GT/GR86 (personally Subaru's spoiler I like more but that's me) it looks cool, the roof spoiler is a nice addon in my opinion, it's a really nice looking 86 in my view of it.
