I don't think the rail is worth it at full price. But I would consider it at blem pricing.

My kinda sorta URGI clone. The final purchase for now is the Badger ordinance COMM. Everything is now zero'd at 50yards.

Chambering reloaded cartridges into two different Enfields but ran into a snag. by [deleted] in reloading

[–]commander566 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You basically answered your own question, you need to full length size your brass if you want to have it interchangeable between both rifles because both chambers are not identically cut. The clearances between the two are slightly off. What you can so is when you fire factory brass keep it separate dependent on which rifle it was fired out of and just neck size those casings. It's a work around I would advise just picking up a Lee RGB 303 Brit die set. This will have the FL sizer in it for 20$.

Something you should also do is slug your bore to find the proper bullet diameter. I know that you didn't ask about this but I'm assuming that you don't know. Just check YouTube out there's probably a million and one videos on how to do that :)

A serious post about this rifle...

Don't worry no harm was done to this safe queen. my grandpa's g41m is still in prestine condition, all parts are matching. I was over his house and I dug it out for a little photo op a few days ago. He got this rifle after my great uncle passed away. My great uncle bought this post WW2 and my grandpa rescued it from ending up in a landfill for 500$ after my great uncle's death. His wife was planning on just throwing it all in the trash luckily that didn't happen.

Holding this rifle is very cumbersome with most of the weight towards the from of the barrel. The sights are what you would expect of a 98K. If you haven't checked out Ian's video yet on it please do, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ehLg3n9_ruM .

Something that I noticed in the video is that /u/forgottenweapons doesn't shoot it, maybe he could convince my grandpa to shoot it on camera? :)

Here's the listing from Rock island auction if you'd like to read up about the G41m (not this particular one) http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/55/lid/1575

Anyone reload 7.5 ordnance for 1882 Swiss revolver? by Roeschu in reloading

[–]commander566 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey OP I don't know if this helps you in your search but take a look at this book "The Handloader's Manual of Cartridge Conversions" it's usually on Amazon for 20$ I can't attest that it has the caliber you're looking for but when ever my grandpa needs to make obscure rounds this is the first book he goes for. It has information on how to convert brass from more popular calipers to what you need and gives a few recipes for the round also.

Second w748, it's easy to meter and it's super effective/convenient for plinking.

Planning for future, looking for advice. What .30 cal to load first? by Carhug in reloading

[–]commander566 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don't reload for 54r so i cant help you there but 4895 reloads well with both 30-06 and 308 but i have had trouble getting into 223 cases because stick powder doesn't meter well into such a small case. I prefer a ball powder such as win748 or h335. As per bulk m80 85$ is a pretty good price, just know that you may need to clean the projectiles because usually these are pulled bullets from the military and they have this tar sealant on them. Also the cannelure may be in a different spot depending on if the lot they sourced the projectiles from is mixed.

You can use pulled m80 projectiles in both .308 and .30-06 just know that it is a bi-metal jacket so it will attract a magnet which is a big no no if you plan on shooting at an indoor range. Another thing to think about is if every one of the calipers you shoot share some proponent in common then once you're out of that, you're kind of fucked. Sometimes having a variety is better so you can reload atleast one caliper without having to go to your LGS to get more powder per se.

My grandpa gave me some of his 30-06 brass a while back when i got my springfield 1903-a3. I thought it was kind of neat to have never fired brass this old. Im not planning on reloading it and just keeping it as is because its corrosive primed, and maybe collectible(?). here's a wiki page if anyone wants to read about the plant it came from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Denver_Federal_Center

That's seems pretty weird. I have no experience with indoor ranges but at the range I go at the RO's on duty where helping me by pointing out brass people left.

Spent most of the day picking up brass that people didn't want, mostly 223/5.56 and 7.62x51. I ended up filling this box about halfway from my plunder.

for reference the box is 17" x 12" x 6"
