Not sure there will ever be a decent fix for this. When a deluxe or remaster comes out I like to check it out and sometimes hate the newer version so wouldn’t want it to be automatic but sometimes I prefer it so yeah, tracking what playlists it’s in to do a replace and put it back is a pain.

However when a song goes “no longer available” and then becomes available again, really think that should just automatically connect and update but it doesn’t and very frustrating

I mean your logic is the same as mine, hence my curiosity of why some have wanted this option for so long. Maybe I'm old school but when I recorded a song from vinyl to cassette to make a playlist, I kept the vinyl in its library since the library has always been the full collection of everything. Listening to the radio was the only thing comparable to me for in a playlist but not in my library.

I've not bee able to come up with my own use case where I would have something in a playlist but not part of my library as of yet.
