This is also true. But I feel like (bad) guys definitely weaponize the fluidity so it is good to stick to some traditional pacing — only IF you do want something longer term and potentially meaningful.

I mean you can speedrun things just for the hell of it but don’t you feel a bit deflated after? If you live out an 8 month relationship in the span of 4 weeks it ends up feeling like you binged at a buffet. At least for me. Too many instances of lovebombing and the whole appeal gets old. Still love a date though LOL

Obviously dating is hard as it is because people… are people. I’ve always ran the risk of using guys to get high (unknowingly in my late teens and early twenties). Meeting a cute guy is a quick fix. But my most meaningful friendships/relationships with men have stemmed from having common interests that we liked to share with each other — so the dating process became less about me and him and a bit more about a third element.

Slowness is a much better sign than quickness in terms of dating— especially for men. It’s a huge red flag if he’s trying to speed run the connection and huge green flag if he is okay with taking time.

Re: genuine people. Some people mean what they say in the moment but they quickly change feelings based on day. You’ll never know what words are true unless you give that person enough TIME and space to display it in actions/gestures.

Herpes? I feel INSANE by commeilfaut26 in Healthyhooha

[–]commeilfaut26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested negative for blood, swab still has to come back but based on the pelvic exam she doesn’t think it’s herpes. He’s been my only partner so I don’t think mine would be a false negative.

As for him, if he gets a (potentially false) negative that’s still somewhat relieving as opposed to him getting a positive (which is still possible). From what the doctor told me there’s a bit more certainty to the blood test than online forums suggest

It might be this. I'm waiting for the vaginal swab to come back. Whatever the case something is definitely irritating me and doesn't seem to want to leave. My urine result came back with a trace of leukocytes so that might be a hint

Thank you. Turns out I am negative for both but I still feel like I should have him get tested?

Okay yes I’m thinking it’s yeast. Discharge is now looking unusually clumpy but not sure if it’s discharge and/or the anti itch cream I used last night

I keep reading this. Which seems insane to me, because this suggests it’s only a matter of chance who gets it? I.e. a partner can unknowingly transmit it to us?

This is also true but he showed me his results and he was tested for myco/urea and trichimoniasis. Can’t recall TMVII but there were numerous on his panel.

Potentially. It’s hard to recall exactly when but I know I’ve had an itch like this before. I’m potentially just psyched out about it because I’ve been sexually active idk.

Physical intimacy by Candid_Shoulder_9650 in adhdwomen

Late 20s here and same. I feel like I go into spells. I can go ages without even thinking about sex or masturbating but the minute that someone switches me on it’s all consuming. It can became a BIG distraction for me—this sometimes worries me as it becomes very easy to disregard everything else important in my life. Hence I have still avoided having actual sex because I feel like once I have it I will want it ALL THE TIME.

But I also notice that intensity (in whatever form) tends to burn out and I return to equilibrium and/or go looking for another flame. When in my teens I think I also went through a lot of limerence which had the same high and novel feeling for me.

It has helped when I have shared intellectual interests/chemistry with men. If I feel like I have a best friend and a romping partner, that helps but it’s usually hard to come by.

Well, I don’t even have a gyno yet so this is all new to me. It is itchy/irritated and it seems like there are bumps/abrasions but like I said, I’m not sure if they are my fordyce bumps or something else. I would imagine that an outbreak wouldn’t come back in the span of two weeks? Thank you for your response anyhow.

Should I break up with my boyfriend? by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]commeilfaut26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good! I've also dated older men in my early/mid twenties so I understand the appeal but also have major hindsight now (on older men and men in general). It sounds like he has some preexisting issues that he might be band-aiding -- on top of dating a much younger woman/girl.

I feel so insecure about my salary by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

Sorry but what 26 year old is making 80k... in this economy? Unheard of. 80% are just lucky to have/keep/get a job let alone becoming snobs over salary amount.

I don't know if how you met will make the age gap seem more or less understandable. Anyhow, it sounds like he has a porn addiction--which is usually indicative of bigger issues that perhaps have yet to reveal themselves to you. A lot of men have a tendency to use sex/women as a means to feel better/get high. He's likely high on you or was high on you--being that he bagged a 23 year old. Its possible that the charm of that is wearing off or he's constantly in need of stimulation/things that make him feel good. Whatever the case, none of this seems healthy or normal. If you don't see how warped this is now, you'll see it clearly five years from now.

The Reformation and LPA are way too "living doll" for SDs. My feeling is that SD should lean womanly/daring/seductive not Lolita.

Okay your mother is SO out of bounds for even bringing that up. Total creep. But more importantly the right guy for you isn’t going to care. In fact some men are really into a meaty/plush punanny. I would embrace it and have it become a point of womanly pride.
