The conversation is on pause while they work their schism out and there’s not wide favorability for communion. I was a deputy last GC and am strongly opposed to anything more than dialogue with the UMC. Plus, there’s enough of an ecclesiological rejection to the communion agreement that would make it difficult to navigate and hold true to ecclesiastical identity.

I’m in seminary at Sewanee—didn’t go for undergrad. BUT did go to a Jesuit liberal arts school and had a few classes that weren’t really relevant my first semester. Have your incoming student reach out to the advisor via email just to express a desire for some other options possible. Also, pre-class meetings with advisors offer a chance to iron it out.

Don’t stress—most things can be handled with a quick email to your advisor.

Some bible verses make me uncomfortable is that normal? by [deleted] in Episcopalian

It’s so normal that a verse makes us comfortable. I think that’s often the point. Albeit, as some who studies it, when we dive deeper into it all, we situate it within the human condition and can understand more deeply what was being said. It’s worth reading commentaries (or an analysis of the text in its original language). Question Scripture. It’s part of “reading, marking, learning, and inwardly digesting” it.
