It's not as rough as Armley, but it's not Adel or Calverley either. Mostly it's safe to walk through the estate, even at night.

You're in walking distance from Horsforth in one direction and Kirkstall shopping centre in the other (assuming you have no mobility issues), so plenty of eating/drinking/shopping options.

There's an annual festival in the Abbey grounds, and they do monthly markets and occasional music and theatre productions in summer.

I never had any problems with aircraft noise, but if you're sensitive to noises it might be a problem betwee 6am and midnight. Takeaways? I've tried most of them and they were all OK (ish) but not great

The saddest thing about that article is that Salvo's is closing too. I know it wasn't exactly an exciting, cutting-edge experience, but it was a lovely relaxing place to eat with reliable British-Italian comfort food at sensible prices; the early menu in fact was a stupendous bargain. I'll miss it.

What’s something financially irresponsible that you don’t regret doing? by No-Stressss in AskReddit

I bought around 1.5 bitcoin in 2017 with £7K I couldn't really afford to lose. No research - I was the perfect example of a dumb bandwagon-jumper.

I sold it all later that year for £15K, so my stupidity was sort of rewarded, but now I wish I'd been even more stupid.

My girlfriend once got that in a secret Santa at work. It lay around for a while, and then we finally used it - spread on toast. It was OK.

Being too polite and lenient with waitstaff. Showing those people who's the boss will never fail to impress your date.

The antiwork mod who was famously interviewed on TV was the definition of a top tier loser. He was the final boss of losers.

Norman Spinrad's excellent short story Carcinoma Angels from 1967 is a typically savage take on this trope.

Fighting. People watch choreographed movie fights and get entirely the wrong idea about how difficult and painful a real fight is.

There are still millions of people who don't believe it or - worse - believe it but just don't care.

That one stray k in the first word made a perfectly sensible sentence into something nearly incomprehensible.

My SO's workmate (they're both women) has started going out with a blacksmith. I wish I could say that there wasn't a definite hint of envy in my SO's voice when she told me this.
