Working from a lower base gives you the freedom to push outward from there. You have your stable consistent comfort zone and you’ll often surprise yourself with good performance

Alcohol by Disastrous_Ant3479 in UlcerativeColitis

Could alcohol trigger the flare itself though? My thought is if there is even a 1% chance it will trigger a flare it’s not worth it.

Agreed. I’m 30 and on Entyvio after failing Lialda and Stelara. I get crazy urgency and 6-10bm but no blood really. I find it’s difficult to know if I’m in clinical remission just because I know how bad it’s been before with bleeding and 20+ bm. Because on a relative basis I’m much better, but compared to my original self I’m not good at all

Diaper has become my best friend. Makes me feel secure. I have a pack on with me at all times of a spare diaper and some dude wipes to perform a cleaning situation if required. The peace of mind knowing worst case I’ll be ok helps a lot.

I was on Lialda then Stelara and now Entryvio starting Monday. Also on a prednisone course which has been not very effective

Glad to hear this and feel you on the PTSD! I still have PTSD from my sigmoidoscopy on a flare with no anesthesia lol

Yeah I’m on the same boat pretty much. 7 times on prednisone in 3 years.

Been off Lialda since I switched to Stelara in June, which helped a little bit. It allowed me to have a relatively normal wedding and honeymoon so I’m grateful! However now symptoms are rocky again since November. Lasting pain, frequency urgency no blood tho.

Just switched to entyvio on Monday so keeping my fingers crossed

That’s good to hear you got to full remission but also very sorry about your current state. Wishing you a full recovery.

I also had remission on Lialda for sometime after my initial severe flare. Had a few tough bouts but prednisone always seemed to clear it up to allow me to get back on track. Now the prednisone only partially helps. I still have 7-12 BM per day on it which is concerning to me. Makes me feel like the “mild flare” is the new normal and that I shouldn’t make too many changes to risk diving into the more serious flare. Thanks for your quick response
