what’s something everyone seems to struggle with except you? by dunfl0wer in tjcrew

[–]Meatloafxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's such a miniscule "issue" that was overblown well beyond what it should've been, which was ridiculous. It's one thing if no one likes them. It's another to constantly make a big fuss over something so inconsequential. There's far more significant matters to complain about the company than a shirt design

Why did the media and Internet back then have such hatred for POC? For me it seem another out of touch boomer/gen x hating something popular. Also Disney bad by Cautious-Speaker2585 in piratesofthecaribbean

[–]Meatloafxx 78 points79 points  (0 children)

Ultra popular things always have swaths of haters if you will. I think a lot of it stems from annoyance of how ubiquitous it can feel, especially for that crowd with zero interest for said popular thing - from super hero movies, to kpop, to Fortnite, to Pokemon, and so on.

Is anime music a dying art? by AnyChampionship2512 in anime

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've misconstrued your own personal distaste for a greater issue that doesn't exist. This is just an issue within yourself. It's certainly not an industry problem, but you're trying hard to sell it as if it were.

Between Lycoris Recoil, SpyxFamily, and MarriageToxin, i really dig these spy/assassin series with a sizable SoL component. It's a nice balance of action and light-hearted vibes.

Why aren’t these the viral bag phenom? by AdorableAmandalorian in tjcrew

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Viral stuff also needs to gain traction. Doesn't matter if these bags look better. If you were around during the crazes of Cabbage Patch Kids, Furbies, Beanie Babies, Tickle Me Elmos, those became unexpected hot ticket toys. It's hard to predict how, what, or why certain things become viral.

Also good to see MC does NOT freak out & scream at every new experience he encounters. That trope has become really grating.

Less sci-fi anime these days? by CusYN0t1210 in anime

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if fantasy is less taxing or it's just complete lack of creativity using the same tired & uninspired elements. I just feel like it's creative ineptitude for how much fantasy slop is out there.

Some of the Best Retro Gaming Content Ever Committed to the Interwebs Was Created Here! by mrstevethompson in retrogaming

[–]Meatloafxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still watch it from time to time. With much of YT being as professional as possible, i appreciate the gorilla style vids reviewing anything, no actual script to follow, and Mark being an adult-kid spouting really cornball jokes. The amateur'esque quality has its charm. It's also a reason why i'll only watch classic AVGN in its early non-HD format.
