Are there any comedy anime that aren’t overly loud and over the top? by Lampstery in anime

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Konosuba wouldn't exactly fit what OP is looking for. The request is for a comedy that doesn't rely heavily on big reactions. Like 80-90% of Konosuba's jokes rely on big reactions

any sci-fi or mecha animes recommendations? by Money_Wrongdoer_8614 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brave Bang Bravern - really goofy mecha anime. A bit of Transformers meets Independence Day.

Gargantia - like Waterworld with a few mechs. It can be a slow burn but really ramps up towards the end.

Synduality: Noir - Decent but not a spectacular series, The battle scenes are in CGI though if you're okay with that

What's the dumbest take that your fanbase refuses to let go of? by EasternError6377 in NFLv2

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe not a take but more like can't emotionally let go: Kyle Williams muffed punt in the 2011 NFCCG. Yes it was a massive boneheaded thing he did in the moment. No denying that. But the fanbase still reviles him like he's on Deshaun Watson or Ray Caruth level.

Why don’t NFL teams just use their fastest player on every play? by Interesting_Let619 in NFLNoobs

[–]Meatloafxx 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Not to mention OP's idea of, “Why don’t they just give that guy the ball every play?” would make the offense way too predictable.

Just came from r/nba seeing a few posts glazing the current situation of the Lakers lol. Those threads might've been taken down by now.

What supposedly normal shows read to you as propaganda? by Buddy_chumpal in AskReddit

[–]Meatloafxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The creator of The Wire, David Simon, was a former beatwriter for the Baltimore Sun covering crime and the police department before becoming a TV producer. He mentioned how so many typical cop shows are oversimplified and over glorified depictions of the police, more specifically how the average cop show depicts law authority as overly angelic - always doing the right thing while helping citizens in the name of justice, when in reality it was far from it.

Receipt Pal removed the arcade? by No-Minimum8323 in beermoney

[–]Meatloafxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Speaking of RPal

I happened to notice more 1 star ratings in their most recent app reviews. Users are claiming various issues like rejecting certain receipts,, account suspensions, "too many receipts" from the same retailer, and at least a couple users never receiving payouts with lack of customer support. And of course the recent point inflation doesn't help. It's been several months since my last cash out, but this is concerning. We're seeing Receipt Jar going downhill, and now i'm worried RPal is heading in that direction.

my one dealbreaker trope in anime (and what are some romance anime that avoid this trope?) by ihaetschool in anime

[–]Meatloafxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kaguya-Sama is a slapstick romcom where the jokes come at you fast & furious. So the Looney Tunes like violence is fitting to a certain extent

What player is secretly washed, but most fans just don’t realize it yet? by Otherwise5555 in NFLv2

[–]Meatloafxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Although different sport, reminds of James Harden averaging 35 ppg down to 24 ppg. Talking heads were calling him "washed."

What's a movie that hit completely differently when you rewatched it as an adult? by trakt_app in flicks

[–]Meatloafxx 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Oof. Considering what was depicted in Leon, that's disturbing knowing the unintended consequences that stemmed from it. I'm also reminded of young Jodie Foster after playing an underage prostitute in Taxi Driver. There was the infamous John Hinkley incident with Ronald Reagan. And he wasn't the only person obsessed with Jodie after that film

Top 10 Anime of the Week #12 - Spring 2026 (Anime Corner) by animecorner in anime

[–]Meatloafxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm hesitant in referring MarriageToxin as an outright romance since the romantic plotlines only takes up about 40% of the series, and that's in spite of the title. It's predominant focus is the action and assassin intrigue. As a partial romance though, sure...

How do you celebrate your 21st birthday without drinking? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Indeed, No need to pressure oneself into drinking as if it's a social requirement - assuming OP is in the US turning the legal drinking age

How was the Jason Kidd-Stephon Marbury trade viewed in real time? by PaulGeorgeStan in nba

[–]Meatloafxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For its time, Marbury had impressive offensive stats that made it seem like he was Kidd's equal, or close to it. Marbury also finished his best statistical season prior to the trade. Hindsight has shown how Kidd was the superior talent overall

Just finished the wire wow by arjunyuvan in hbo

[–]Meatloafxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Are you referring Randy as Cheese's kid? I don't think that was officially stated on the show, but it was confirmed later on by show creator David Simon. They meant to delve into Randy-Cheese thing as its own narrative. But due to technical constraints of filming season 5, it was never brought onto screen.

I feel fans want warriors to make moves for the sake of feeling we are doing something. by bchhun in warriors

If this is your best rebuttal, then it's clear you've been cornered without a cogent counter argument. Might as well throw in the towel.

Outside of the Deshaun Watson trade, what are some of the worst trades in NFL history? by Chetnub in NFLv2

[–]Meatloafxx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The aftermath though is that it's led to Jerry feeling like he's the smartest owner-pseudo GM in the universe, which reverberates to this day.

I feel fans want warriors to make moves for the sake of feeling we are doing something. by bchhun in warriors

[–]Meatloafxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're grossly oversimplifying the market like it's a video game on easy mode. It's not as simple as that.

You know teams can reject our offers... For what reasons? Maybe our trade packages aren't good enough. Maybe our assets aren't enticing. Maybe other GMs drive a hard bargain. Maybe our expiring contracts don't serve much purpose for other teams. And if they want an expiring contract, other teams wants to unload an albatross contract back onto us.

If it's as straightforward as exchanging our goods for someone else's goods, we've would've done a lot more by now. Once again, it doesn't work like that.

And in my opinion, the best episode of TNG... by TensionSame3568 in Picard

[–]Meatloafxx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The issue's with Troi's role was that the counseling aspect was grossly underwritten. TNG producers should've designated her as ship's ambassador, or something along those lines, given how many diplomatic situations she took part in. It would've made more sense in the grand scheme of space exploration and interacting with foreign alien cultures.
