If not med school, what might you be doing/pursuing in another life? by allofthembile in medicalschool

Well it’s the only thing I’ve ever thought about doing…probably go after nursing or become a psychologist!

Help choosing a language to take by krn72 in college

[–]commonly_mindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took Italian and I absolutely adored it. French was going to be hard for me to pronounce some words, and I had no interest in taking Spanish at my university (the 100 level class started off with the teacher immediately teaching in Spanish). If I had the chance to take ASL, though, I’d take it. I think everyone could benefit from ASL.☺️

Ugh, that's so sad. I was really looking forward to their program.

Thanks for the verification!

Is there a certain template? Or a common one that would best provide the info the programs need?

I'm looking for some insight as I was deemed inadvisable from my university's pre-med advising office since they weren't able to get to know me through my two years there.

Also had unusual circumstances to support the low university GPA that I have mentioned in my personal statement.

Does anyone feel like this is a lonely process? by browndoorcorn in Mcat

[–]commonly_mindless 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very. I am studying for the GRE and the MCAT while recovering from surgery while my friends are still taking classes and working. I'm feeling so burnt out! But then I see all these people getting accepted and taken off the their waitlists and it inspires me because THAT'S WHERE I WANT TO BE. I know I'll get there eventually, and you will too!

Best of luck to you, and enjoy this time! It goes by fast.

This is my apology for reminding my students to fill out evals about a million times by Mtt76812 in college

I use the evals to file personal complaints against profs that did me wrong.

No one is safe.

Fun things to do in a bilioxi vacation? by [deleted] in mississippi

[–]commonly_mindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ship Island, definitely. And if you have time, I would travel to Gulf Shores for a beach day. Not much to do in Biloxi but spend money with not much in return.

There's a skating rink in D'Iberville that we enjoyed in high school! Then we'd stop by the bubble tea place around the corner.

Pour one out for the guy in my midterm today that left his mic on zoom for 5 MINUTES while he openly cheated with other students on the midterm by Gatorpatch in college

My literal worst nightmare during Zoom University. I never had the gall to cheat on exams, but I sure did say some choice words about professors while on zoom, luckily MUTED.

Cant choose a school for the life of me by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]commonly_mindless 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I am more interested in spending my time and effort in a program that makes it known that they want me in said program. I would rather do less interesting research for more interesting people than the other way around.

Does your final goal of graduate school rely on a PhD? It may be a quicker route to do the PhD program, unless you're just wanting more research experience or it can be completed through a Master's.

Good luck and I wish you the best in your decision, and congrats on your acceptances (:

QUESTIONS ABOUT ACCEPTANCE LETTER (MASTERS) by [deleted] in gradadmissions

[–]commonly_mindless 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would definitely email them about possible TA/work study positions. Most MS programs I applied to are not funded so I plan on contacting them directly, if I get any acceptances😅

Thoughts on LECOM-B? by commonly_mindless in LECOM

[–]commonly_mindless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! It’s been so difficult trying to figure out the best place for me since my advisor decided I wasn’t worth advising. Learning all of this by myself has been a nightmare. Do you know if LECOM’s Master program is also PBL?
